I've listened to it now and it is ok, but it's not getting me excited about seeing them on tour again.
It's definitely chilled without any stand out tracks (none for me yet, anyway) unless Sea of Mirrors counts because it's as dreary a track as I've heard for some time!
6.5 out of 10 but I will give it another listen or 2.

New Teenage Fanclub album, Nothing Lasts Forever, is good. Quintessentially Teenage Fanclub, so they’re not pushing any boundaries, but they do what they do well.

Loving Kula Shaker’s new album, “Natural Magick”. Parts of it are a bit like if The LA’s we’re Indian and not Scouse.
Also got Cast’s new album, but not had a chance to listen to it yet.

New Paul Weller album announced today, “66”, out in May. Quite like the track released with the announcement.

Blasted by Mean Jeans, musically it's much the same as their previous outings and it's pretty standard Ramones influenced pop punk. What it is though is 30 minutes of super catchy and fun songs.

I went to see John Power at Assai last week and I bought the record as much for a ticket to see that short set and get some records signed. But I've not really stopped listening in the past week. It's brilliant.

Light a candle for the lonely by Ghost Work, just arrived today and it's had quite a few spins already. Indie rock/post punk from guys that were previously in Seaweed and Snapcase amongst others.
Really enjoying this one.

On that theme, not sure if it’s a sign of getting old or bands aging like a fine wine. I thought, like Cast’s new album, the last Manics album, the second to last Teenage Fan Club album and last Kula Shaker albums, as examples, were arguably those bands best albums. Is that a sign of growing old with a band(s) or simply good bands keeping up their quality?

Cock Sparrer new album Hand on Heart, sadly it's also their last album, has been on pretty much constant since it came out Friday.

Best one was at a punk festival in Bergara in the Basque country in 2000. We were drinking with them the night before their show and and next night they came on and went "we're cock sparrer from London, this one's called running riot and it's for the lads from Hibs." Quite a lot of puzzled west ham hooligans and assorted skinheads around us. 46-47-Holidays_in_the_sun_tokikom_700x700.jpg

Krissy Matthews is about to release a new album, “ Krissy Matthews and friends”, 3 hours of blues recorded with numerous stalwarts of the blues scene. He is playing at Bannermans on May 30, you could do worse than spend a couple of hours watching a guitarist reckoned to be among the best in the country right now

Listening to the new Arab Strap album, "I am totally fine with it don't give a **** anymore". It is rather good

I know the thread is for new albums, but I relistened to the first Glasvegas album.
It really is superb. His lyrics are so vivid (is that the right adjective?) and poignant as are the subjects he deals with.
I could probably do without the tracks "Stabbed" and "Go Square Go" is a bit throwaway but that's just my opinion. Apart from that, I think it's a masterpiece.
