Hi folks, my friend's brother has been missing since Thursday, where he was last spotted at Waverly Station, exiting onto Princes Street. If anyone has any info, please call 101, quoting incident No 3,287 of January 2.
Robert (Bob) Cochrane lives in Galasheils, is 37 with grey hair, around 5'9". Photos are in the article I've linked below. Please share on social media to help get him home.

I guess you are looking everywhere, have you tried shelter places, salvation army and similar. He could have had a knock,I hope he turns up safe. Evening News an option?

After the discovery today, I read this may involve the missing guy in the OP.

He seemed so well liked; it’s so very sad that anyone could be in such a bad place as to do something like this and not feel that they were able to speak to anyone. I’m sure the friends and family of anyone feeling like this would much rather hear about their depression (or whatever other issues they may have) than read their obituary.
There have been one or two posters on here over the years who I don’t know but have been very close to PMing after reading their posts, but felt like it might be overstepping the mark. Maybe a complete stranger doing such a thing could well make the difference to someone. It’s probably a risk worth taking in future.
