    Simon Murray

Why did we let him go?

To sign Kamberi, Maclaren and Allan.

He was decent but first touch was horrid at times. Games could pass him by. Had a good season, though.

Hope Stevie Clarke is watching him

Could do a lot worse than have him back, would walk in to this current squad.

29 games 14 goals for us, not many strikers would turn their nose up at a return like that.

His first touch was miles better than Kamberi, and work rate is better than any we have had since.

Sure a barrel load of them were in the league cup groups, he’s done the same this season.

Edit: that wasn’t meant to sound like a criticism, more just an observation. Seems to love that competition.

He’s a good player, has always been a nuisance.

I’d definitely have space for him in a Hibs squad. It probably wasn’t a bad idea to go out on loan when he did but it was probably a mistake to let him go permanently.

Nah I get you, although handy to have given our last performance in the group stages of that cup 😂

It wasn't. Kamberis first 6 months was a higher level than Murray has reached in his career.

    20 goals in 67 games🤔

He’s an absolute nightmare for defenders. Got goals in him, always liked him.

He’s had a really good season.

Exactly the type of player we need. Not got a fancy enough surname for half our support and doesn't try something that gives the ball away 90% of the time he has possession. Not our type of player

Definetly always been a Hibs thing, players before they come to us then after they leave always seem to look better. Murray been outstanding of late, as has Kevin Dabrowski, who was man of the match again yesterday.

I'd bring him back just because of the genius that was the poem he posted on Instagram when announcing his missus was pregnant.

Hopefully this score continues, would rather county stay up and St Johnstone go down

Again, his loan spell here is what I'm discussing. He was probably the best striker in the league for that period.

That includes his loan spell.Kamberis first touch went further than most players can pass the ball.

He wasn’t better than Morelos or Edouard for starters

Nonsense. He had the 'girl's like boys' song which was bit cult and based on little other than his surname.

Nobody sang 'girls don't like boys, girls like Kamenberi, Rix likes kids who've still to pop their cherry...'

He had a good record versus Hearts but many many games passed him by. Was sorry to see him go but the alternatives at the time were on fire.

Would have offered considerably more than Vente for a fraction of the cost.

I can mind him scoring a raker at Hamilton then not long after losing his place to Oli Shaw which seemed unfair at the time and even more so with hindsight. Obviously the combination of Kamberi and McLaren who came in in January were an improvement on Murray and Stokes, but Murray would've been a good guy to keep on the books.

Overall, of course not. For that period, he was as good if not better.

Seemed a daft decision at the time and still is. Having a great season now and is an absolute workhorse.

Did it seem daft when we had a record breaking second half of the season?

He had a good start, but Lennon put Shaw on before him in the last few months.
