Gary Deegan against the sheep in the cup was a good one.

Anyone remember Riordan scoring a screamer of a volley from a cross field ball from Whittaker. Went top corner but was ruled out for offside. Think it would've put us 5 1 up at home against Dundee but went on to draw 4 4.
Don't think I've ever seen a replay.

John Brownlie against Dundee Utd at ER circa 1973. I used to mark the goals out of five stars in my programme and remember giving that one seven!

Boyle's volley against Livingston for me, screamer!

McManus volley and Ormen’s screamer at Castle Greyskull - chuck in Rice’s squiggler (arguably a trundler) in the early 80s there too 😁

The one scored today? Joe Harpers overhead kick from outside the box and of course Duncans 70 yarder against Napoli.

Did see both goals though.Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

One of the first times I’d been allowed to travel in to Easter Road on my own Chinny Baxter scored a wonderful 30 yarder against Aberdeen in a 2-0 win c 1963.

That was first game at ER after Gordon Smith's death. You might remember the half time tribute. Really moving. Then the second half it was as if the great man was helping both his teams. A frustrating outcome but an epic 45.

Mcginlay eh , What a player he was for us by the way , Scored a hell of a lot of goals for us , A very very underrated player imo , A proper box to box player
One of my favourite ever players

I seem to remember that Chico wasn't a million miles away from scoring a 40 yarder at the Celtc game. I mind when he hit the Alloa shot there was a murmur in the crowd that seemed to be "nah, dinnae try that again".

A couple of other notables - Darren Jackson (?) against Northern Ireland (?) in a B international at ER, about 95ish, and Barry Prenderville against St Mirren during the Great Adventure. Think they were both rocketed home from about the same place - main stand side, up the slope, about 30 yards out.

Darren Jackson scored a couple of long-rangers v Dundee Utd at ER.
Griffiths at Tynie was magnificent, especially as he'd done the same at ER only to have it not given despite it being at least a yard over the line.
Jimmy O'Rourke scored a beauty v Celtic in the 1972 Drybrough Cup final.

Derek Riordan Vs Hearts at ER. Was one of my first Edinburgh Derbies and was drawing that goal on the back of my school jotter for a few years after that! An absolute beauty.
