Just saw that, when does his current deal finish?
"...when Hibs won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

It was a two year deal initially. Presumably being extended to optional third year.

Nice - the best player in our defence. Glad he’s sticking around.

Good news.
Hopefully we announce that we've taken the option for ALF for another year soon, too. Too good, solid pros who will contribute much more to the Hibees.
Edit: On and OFF the field!

interesting article mentions his young family - I know some people think its a trope - but Edinburgh is a draw, and if not once they come a good reason for players and families to stay. (just as EM facilities are a draw)
Something we should keep making the most of

Going by the announcement it looks like it's a new deal rather than taking up the option to extend, or I've read into it wrong.
Either way, delighted. Great player.

You could make a case for Obita being in with a shout for the POTY.
Made the position his own and a first choice starter, solid and reliable and rarely lets us down.
Improving all the time and delighted he’s extended his deal.

Thought he did well when had to stand in as a central defender too so his versatility is a plus.

Good left back and worth remembering he recently had a solid game as cover at centre back showing a good turn of pace and is a useful back up
Needs to treat the uglies like any other game and remain fully focused
Will be all the better for that experience

I’d be delighted with this. He’s a very good defender and he he’s decent going forward. Get it done!

Has obviously bought into the Hibernian culture and under the new regime has thrived with someone who is a good man manager. Lost his head a bit against the currants but hopefully learns the lesson.

I remember thinking when he signed that him and ALF were very clearly Brian McDermott signings and being hopeful he would be good on that basis.
Well done Brian/recruitment team, boy's a good un

Apart from the Rangers debacle he's been excellent. Definitely in the mix for POTY
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Great signing.
He seems to get us and is looking like he loves playing for us.

That’s really good news.
Every gimmick hungry yob,
Digging gold from rock and roll
Grabs the mic to tell us,
He'll die before he's sold.

We play with attacking wingbacks and he's one of the best in the league at that so delighted to give him an extra year on top.

Playing so well under Montgomery. A real good full back and a genuinely good lad. Seems to love the rough and tumble in the SPL.
Great news.

Delighted with this! Glad we got it sorted early as well.
Already buzzing for the summer window to be honest.
