    ODI Cricket World Cup

England look like they are in a spot of bother in the opening match of the tournament, 229-7 v NZ with 9 overs remaining.

Absolutely pumped by 9 wickets with almost 14 overs remaining! Net Run Rate will take some rescuing.

Attendances to date very poor. Supports the notion that Indians only love cricket when India are actually playing.

Looking forward to their match against the Aussies tomorrow when we will actually see a full stadium and what should be a great game.

Quite a staggering performance or non performance in this World Cup from England, they have just not turned up. Pretty amazing with the players available and record over the last 6-7 years. They look like a team dreaming of the flight home.

Pakistan v South Africa up next, could be a cracker if the onfire version of Pakistan turns up.

A few years ago the only team capable of beating then in an ODI was Scotland. Now everyone can.

Australia giving the New Zealand bowlers a bit of shoeing, looking good for a big score

And it was! Probably the best game yet.

Pakistan really do have it in them to cause fireworks.. shame they’re capable of collapse almost as easy though! One of the teams I like watching most.

Has there ever been a worse performance by the previous tournament’s winner?

It's hard to believe how poor they've been in almost every match

You usually see top teams in every sport start to decline gradually but this has been quite a spectacular fall in standards.

According to the stats man England are the first mens team to be bowled out in under 35 overs three times in one tournament, shows how far they have fallen

Yep absolutely horrific. Got to assume some issues behind the scenes. Seems like every player is miles off their best form. Who is the England coach? Assume not McCullum.

Matthew Mott ( I've never heard of him either ) is the coach of the OD1 team

Mott coaches the team in both white ball formats. He coached England to win the T20 World Cup last year.

He is quite highly thought-of (or was). Did well coaching the Australian women’s side and at first-class level before that.
