Zimbabwe well ahead on the run rate so Scotland are going to have to bowl them out here. Need to get Burl out.

Would be handy to get Burl out. That wicket would see a Scotland win I'm sure

Assuming wee see this one over the line - it’s a straight ‘whoever wins’ between us and Netherlands for qualification right?
What sort of odds will scotland be to beat Netherlands, slight favourites?

Great win, scrapped to a defendable total with Leask and Watt making big contributions with the bat again. Then backed that up with an excellent bowling and fielding display (dropped catch aside), I think Scotland knew they had to bowl them out and weren't overly bothered with the run rate being better than required as they had confidence they could take the wickets.
I don't think that the match against the Netherlands is a must win as we have a better net run rate, but I've no clue how to work out what they might need if they were to lose.

Brilliant win today. Got bogged down a bit in the middle of our innings, but picked up the pace again. Bowling and fielding has been pretty much outstanding throughout the tournament.

Scotland v Netherlands on Thursday. We are 2 points ahead and well ahead on run rate. Does anyone know the permutations? What we need to qualify?

Found this https://www.icc-cricket.com/news/3564159
"The NRR equation will vary depending on how many runs are scored but, as an example, if Netherlands score 250 then Scotland can afford to lose by up to 31 runs. A win by 32 or more runs for Netherlands would lift their NRR above Scotland's in this scenario.
If Scotland bat first and score 250, they will stay ahead on NRR if Netherlands chase it down in around 44.1 overs (depending on how they get their winning runs). If they chase it down any sooner, then Netherlands will trump Scotland's run rate and take the second qualification spot."
Probably easier just to win to be honest...

Nothing between us in the match betting odds. So I guess having those runs to ‘play with’ makes us slight favourites to qualify.
Looking forward to tomorrow morning!Last edited by WeeRussell; 05-07-2023 at 11:52 AM.

I think if we bowl and field as well as we have been we'll be absolutely fine

I think it will go to the wire, although I hope not.

Settling-in now. A wicket shortly would be nice.
