Daft question but see if your getting an electrician to check out the wiring in a property do you need to have an electricity supply into the property connected.
I get it needs to be switched off if their doing the work but to test it (EICR) does it need to be on.

If its just a case of someone's done a lot of their own wiring in a DIY project and want the wiring checked out the the spark could do it with no power.
If though, you're wanting a certificate for something like selling or letting the property then a certificate with the limitations mentioned would be a waste of money?Last edited by Just Alf; 20-05-2023 at 04:52 PM.
