    You don’t know what he’ll be getting paid though?

    The league he’s coming from isn’t a place he’ll have been getting a particularly high salary.

    What you’re saying sounds great in theory, in practice though, some squad fillers will always be signed, not practical to spend all our money on having 25 first team squad members all expecting to start, there will always be the odd punt on cheaper options in the hope they’ll over perform.

    He’ll be an improvement on those players and McGeady (given he can’t be relied upon).

    I think Williams has made his money and won’t be demanding a big wage. We are not going to improve upon Youan and Boyle for the wide starting positions but we do need flexible cover and Williams should offer that across 3 positions
