    David Marshall

Hoofing the ball into the Aberdeen end to give away a corner was hilarious

I'm just glad it was a cracking tackle, he could have easily hurt himself or get sent off.

He should have done the same last week for their third. Like to think he had that in his mind when he came out.

Kicking it into that lot was superb.

At the time I didn't have a clue why he did that. Couldn't understand why he didn't put it in the East. Watching it again on Alba see he didn't have much of a choice.

    Cracking tackle though.

Clean sheet. All is well again!

He definitely had a choice. He just chose to make the choice he made 😂

    Late on

A throw in would have been better but funny nonetheless

Showed the required grit and determination

Was in injury time, can't mind the exact minute though

I’d hope booting it in to the East wasn’t one of the choices based on where about on the pitch it was

    It certainly made me laugh.

I also thought the players enjoyed the game, great to seeing them laughing and celebrating with each other at the goals. Team spirit is getting better and for me that is very important

Apart from the comedy/ face plant an away fan, it was the sensible choice. They could have had a quick throw in and shot at goal. With a corner he was going to be back with the rest of the defence.

A throw is difficult because he basically has to blast it into the home fans and hope the ball boy doesn't give them the ball back before he's back in goal. Corner was probably the best decision all things considered. Mainly Aberdeens inability to score, even in a whorehouse.

I’m delighted he did that, I like to think it was a GIUY to me after i criticised him for the third goal against hearts.

Can’t concede a throw in with all the balls trackside now. Would have been in the net before he was in his box. Right decision to give away corner

I was right next to the incident in West Lower South and it looked easier in the heat of the moment for him just to pop it out for a throw in rather than rotate his body and boot it into the sheep that is all

    Funny in any case

Just rewatched the incident Marshall did the right thing in just clearing the danger kicking the ball out the park for safety

Shudda done the same to Sibbick last week maybe learned from that ?

He would have needed to have done this if kicked it for a throw in https://twitter.com/Gideoomatic/stat...773711360?s=20

Aberdeen are pony. Giving away a corner was probably less threatening than a throw in.

It definitely looked easier to kick it out for a throw in. Perhaps he is not the most confident sweeper keeper in the world, but a very minor detail. I think he still has the ability to be part of the Scotland squad and should reconsider his position whilst Craig Gordon is out as it is always encouraging to see a Hibs player's name in the Scotland squad.

I'm sure it was reported he said to Steve Clarke he was open to it.

I think the only reason he retired is he didn't want to spend the time away from home at that point in his career to sit on the bench, fair enough imo.

Thought that was hilarious the total power!! - maybe quite smart as well, if he plays it for a throw in there's the chance for a fast throw in with him way out of his goal and not many defenders back. Getting it well into the away end behind the goal and also a mini-game of pinball with Aberdeen fans gives him time to get back into goal and Hibs players time to get back to set up for the corner whilst they get players up for corner - not that they were scoring from wither anyway
