    Will Fish

Thought for such a young lad he did very well today. He'll face tougher tests, but he should be proud of his efforts tonight.

Hanlon was talking him through it too... also a LCB & RCB who would have thought that would work better than 2 x RCB

He looks like a proper no nonsense defender and we looked a lot more secure with cross balls as he won most of the headers

Hopefully he can follow up on this with some consistent performances. Delighted to see him get a goal and clean sheet today. Would have done his confidence the world of good.

Good to have a bit more height at the back.

He was up there for MOM for me if Josh hadn't got a hattrick. Defended like a proper defender. Won loads of headers in our box. Had a great game, I really think playing beside Paul helped him through today

Very good today, proper centre half. Keep it going Fishy!

I’d written him off as another dud signed in desperation. Looked a far better player today than i ever gave him credit for. More of the same please young man

Good mentality to come back from the mistake at Tynecastle.

He had a few moments in the first half when he dithered on the ball. After that anything that came his way defensively was just booted as high and as far away as possible.

    An excellent performance.

Totally agree! Great performance and a real confidence builder for all.

    Ryan who?

Apologies, will remove my thread…started at the same time! Brilliant today! Magnet to the ball

Was good today but has been good in other games too ( apart from 1 moment of madness at Tynecastle obviously ) .

I didn't see him or Paul miss a header today, both put on superb displays.

For all the love that’s been given to Porto and Rocky this season at times this was the most commanding centre half performance I’ve seen from a Hibs player this season.

Thought his timing in the air was fantastic.

He was excellent. Well done to him, he’s proved a lot of doubters wrong including me.
    Every gimmick hungry yob,

    He'll die before he's sold.

I thought the defence was a lot more settled and less erratic today. Fish was good, played sensibly and positioning was good which I think we’ve lacked in that position.

He overhit most forward passes / pints but his defending was spot on so no complaints. He can pleased with a good display.

Given time I think he will be a top defender, his head was like a magnet to the ball today

Am I right in saying he’s only 19? Looks like he has a lot of potential.

Cleared his lines and headed everything. Arguably all you need from a centre half but the clearances could become frustrating when there are simple passes on.

Still learning his trade so it’ll be interesting to see how he gets on. Glad for him today though, clean sheet and a goal.

Really good today . With more confidence from game time hopefully his composure on the ball improves.

Think he dealt with every set piece on his own today. Looked very good.

Hopefully this puts to bed the lazy “another Nathan Wood signing” that I’ve heard a few times now regarding Fish.

Nathan Wood was like a deer in the headlights in his only Hibs game, Will Fish has always looked a lot more confident and capable (derby mistake aside). A lot to learn but has the foundations of a good player.

Granted Aberdeen were a fairly poor opposition but interesting to see if Hanlon and Fish can establish a good defence pairing.

I like him and felt for him after his derby mistake. He cleared his lines at every opportunity today possibly with that mistake in mind
