Only caught the tail end of her time in charge of the pub but what a pub it was. One of those places that was a bit rough and ready but she made sure everyone knew where the line was.

That’s sad news. Used to drink there fairly regularly during my seagoing days and we always got a warm welcome.

Mary was going to write a book with former Longniddry Inn landlady Linda Tweedie, it was mentioned a few years ago with both planning to share their stories of their lives behind bars 😵 sadly I dont think they ever got round to writing it, I certainly cant see it on sale anyway. Hopefully it was completed and waiting to be published, would be a brilliant read
