    Rab Noakes

    ....has sadly passed away.

Well known to those of a certain age, he was on the bill at my first ever gig.

    RIP

So sad. So many of the musicians I grew up with are leaving us.

Very sad, and in the same week one of my heroes Dan McCafferty passed away also. Saw Nazareth about 6 times back in the day, I remember when a great band called Widowmaker who were supporting them had the temerity to get an encore from the Odeon crowd which only spurred Naz on to perform better then ever.

I always remember a single called Branch by Rab. If it had got some radio play it would have sold well, great song.

RIP to these 2 great Scottish performers.

I remember him visiting Broughton High school to give music lessons when I was there.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.
