Terrific comeback by Cameron Norrie to level the opening tie with the USA after Dan Evans was edged out. Andy Murray up next in the doubles to try and win the tie.

I didn’t see any matches but a bit disappointing to lose to USA in the doubles
I know we have another highly rated doubles specialist( name escapes me), along with Joe Salisbury. Why did they not team up ?
Was Andy Murray only playing to sell tickets ?

The doubles match was a cracker and could have gone either way, though as Murray said daft to have it finishing after midnight.

Murray may not have played if Jack Draper wasn't injured but I think it was the right call as he's got a great record in Davis Cup doubles as well as singles and brings so much experience with him. Unfortunately Salisbury's No 1 ranked doubles partner was part of the USA pairing so they were a really strong duo too.

Aye, I saw it was Ram and Sock.
However Neal Skupski(sp) is ranked number 3 in doubles and Salisbury is number 1. I’ve been looking at the Davis Cup site
Surely they should have teamed up to take on the Yanks ?
Put your best doubles team out, not a sentimental offering
GB will probably finish runners up in the group now which means a probable tie v Italy in the quarters. I would guess that would be the end of the road for this campaign

Yeh, you could be right. I doubt Leon Smith based the call on sentimentality though.

Out after losing to Netherlands 2-1 with Murray / Salisbury again losing the crucial doubles.

I read that even after a minute's silence before the match, they are not playing the music during breaks so I assume the atmosphere will be much flatter than normal David cup ties of late.

I watched both the GB doubles matches. Both were really cracking ties and could have gone either way. Murray hit some extraordinary winners but was also guilty of passing up some crucial opportunities that he wouldn't have missed in his prime.

Atmosphere was still good but in both matches spoiled due to the late finishes. Families with kids had to leave and the crowd by the end of both occasions was about half what it had been.

Biggest disappointment was Cam Norrie in the singles against a guy he breezed past a few weeks ago. As he admitted he never got going and that proved costly.

Andy Murray quite emotional as he looks likely to have played his last Davis Cup tie. Least he went out on a winning note, even if the tie was already lost, and you can see his touch with a drop shot remains magical:
