They hate living our shadow. First thing they do is start using Hibs chants to get over the death of their song book and now its copy Hibs TV's but make a backside of it. It wont be long until they start singing sunshine on Gorgie.

If they're not switched on during games then there would be no point having them.

Jambo once told me that it is "deliberately" smaller so they have an advantage over other teams.

    It is what it is
The Budgie was determined that the unfinished main stand would see the capacity exceed 20.000
Tight fit though ,with all weather media facilities.
Now this big screen catch up.
    Whatever next?

Their very own state of the art training ground,i imagine.
    "Deliberately", haha.

It's why Hearts will never play an expansive style. There is zero expanse.

How exactly are our screens pointless?
Because, just like the ubiquitous mobile phone, they are a distraction from the game. We've had screens down here for years, and I've never once come away from a game thinking that the screens improved my enjoyment of the match, at any ground. Call me old fashioned, but I'm there to watch the match, not gawp at a screen.

Then don't gawp at the screens?

They're generating a good bit of money for the club and show replays. Honestly don't see what the issue is at all.

I get that advertisers pay money to use the screens, but football for me is about escapism. For that couple of hours while I'm in the ground it's just about me and the match - no thoughts of work, problems at home, or other people who are after my money. I know that we've always had advertising hoardings, but they are a lot easier to ignore than a great big flashing screen. I just don't like them.

Advertisers spending cash to be on them, when out of line of sight during a live broadcast!

I like the LNER train that spins round the ground on the digital advertising. Playing golf last week at Arbroath when an LNER train travelled down the side of the course I immediately thought of Hibs!

    Good train of thought there.
Shows that the digital advertising is on the right track.

I may be wrong but I don't think advertiser are paying money expecting to have their logo shown on TV. Teams all over the world have Big Screens and I can't ever remember seeing any adverts on them that much. That's what touchline boards are for.

I usually only glance at them a few times a game. It improved my enjoyment when I looked mid celebration and saw that boyler had megged Gordon a couple of weeks. Had to stop celebrating to start laughing.

Anyone with even a vague connection to Hearts should be screened for all manner of things. Sectioning would be appropriate for a good number of them also.....

Advertising to fans in the stadium. Not TV cameras. Sure they get picked up at ER but that's not typical for many stadiums. The pitch side advertising at ER will bring in a lot more as that's always on TV.

It’s definitely a significant piece of pitch side real estate at ER.

bottom line is theirs is in a crap position cause they have a crap stadium

There was definitely at least 1 point in the Derby where I actively sought out to watch a replay of what had just happened. Otherwise I don't overly notice the screens but I'm sure Hibs will have calculated the RoI and seen it a worthwhile investment. It's there as a new revenue stream - improving fan experience is a Brucey bonus.
    Mon the Hibs.

Does this mean that we can add 'telly's that no-one can see' to 'stairs that go nowhere' in the 'How not to build a stadium' book that they borrowed from the library?

Their screens will probably be a year late, stuck in a crate in China and 5million over budget, its the hertz way.

Hertz were told that the second hand screens were in storage in Birmingham.
So a representative of the club is flying out to Alabama to negotiate a price.

They used to list their pitch size in yards on their website when everyone else used metric in order to mask the small dimensions a bit. Not sure if they still do.
    Surely yards makes sense.

You wouldn't say the penalty spot is 10.97 metres etc

One person's 12 yards is another person's 10.97 metres.Big clubs measure in metres small clubs measure in yards.
