Not enough room in their tiny stadium to have them facing onto the pitch. 😁

Probably the same ones that slagged us off are now getting excited about theirs.

Course, they can't put them in the corners like big clubs do, on account of their stupid little Meccano stadium.......

Second hand from the Commonwealth Games, Tramps

Seemingly cost them nearly £400k Not sure if that is each or for both but glad they are wasting their money on these rather than their team. Sure the Hearts fans will lap it up.
Hope the screws they are using are up to scratch. Would hate to see them fall off during a game...

Don't need them to, the view is perfectly good.

I'm not that familiar with the layout of Tynecastle, will the press be able to see these screens while they're rebooting their laptops every time there's a rainshower?

  13. #12
Daft place to put them. You'll get blinded sitting under one of them. So they'll prob have to turn them off during game time, which defeats the purpose.

    ***** the lot of em

Might be wrong here maybe some can tell me ? Is tiny not meant to be unsuitable for euro games cause of size of pitch?

Will all SPL clubs not need screens of some sort for when VAR comes in?

No, they removed the front rows of the goal end stands to lengthen the pitch years ago to solve that problem. They widened it as well when they built the new Main stand.

If it's true maybe the big screens are to show home matches from a decent and normal size pitch were there playing from likes a Arbroath ,east fife or somewhere else like that !

Pity anyhow it still stinks there!

Hopefully they have those swivel arm brackets that they can pull them out when the game is on.

They should have made them smaller aswell - Tynecastle is much smaller than Easter Road, will look like those houses that have massive TVs in a small livingroom - a bit neddy

Screens? Plural? Can only see a really long weird one in that picture.

Probably be fine when all the works done and switched on etc, but looks pretty daft in that picture.

Yet another compromise caused by that daft wee stadium. Did Budge anticipate or plan for screens when building the new stand? Of course not.

    Ha ha Hearts.

Squeezing that into their small stadium. Looks so so crap compared to ours. At least ours face the pitch and offer much better viewing angles.

They couldn't put it up on their tiny corners as it would have probably crumbled them.

    Tin pot stadium.

so they lengthened and widened it and it still looks like a five a side?

  28. #27
Why was their stadium designed like that? Was it due to the proximity of other buildings? They really missed a trick not moving elsewhere instead of building those stands.

According to Google, both pitches are the same width, but Easter Road is 5m longer.

I'm pretty sure although my memory is getting on a bit the design allowed the stands to be taken down as required, can't recall the reason they done it that way tho. And obviously now they have a grade 1 famous super dooper atmosphere so have to keep them
