Like the look of this. Melkersen and Youan partnership could be exciting!

DM against Clyde? I'd replace Kenneh with Henderson.

Really looking forward to the game on saturday. Only seen a few clips on you tube of the two previous games so cant really comment as of yet on who is better than who and in which position. LJ seems to want to play an exciting brand of football. Very hopeful of a decent season ahead of us.

Is it just the East and West Stands open on saturday?

You could say that about any of the group games really and Kenneh ends up without any football by the time the league starts.

Still think we need to do things properly and get players doing the things the new manager wants from them.

If he’s a good DM he’ll be the one getting on the ball deep and getting us playing anyway.

Yup, if people think Kenneh is just going to be breaking up play and that’s it then they haven’t been paying attention, there appears to me more to his game than that.

Interesting that LJ hasn’t settled on a captain for next season and will vary it over the league cup games before settling on a pick before the league starts.

Absolutely delightful that I have no idea what our starting 11 will be nor what our actual best 11 will be.

Still another couple of signings to come in and with Hanlon, Mitchell, Magennis and Nisbet still to come back in it's definitely looking more positive.
Are we still waiting for Magennis? Feels like years and years.

I'm in the "wouldn't know where to start" camp for this one.

But in a good way this time.

Would be a good one for the admins to turn into a competition.

It wouldn't surprise me if no one calls the starting eleven correctly.

I reckon Porteous will be made captain. They mic'd him up during one of the games.

Is the captain thing not just because Hanlon is out injured just now and probably won't play for a bit? Could obviously be wrong, but I'd be surprised if he changed things.

Guess it depends on if Johnson prefers him or the new centre half

I know it's only preseason where we weren't under huge pressure defensively but I'm surprised more haven't gone with McLelland at CB...

I thought Rocky was flapping a bit for at least one of the goals conceded and another couple of chances over the two games in Portugal.

Also don't think LJ rates Rocky very much (neither do I), I'd be surprised to see him in the starting 11.

I'd like to see Bojang involved, he will need a decent run to get up to speed for the opening league game. does anyone know if he's joined up with the squad yet?

We only conceded 2 goals in the two matches and I'm sure Rocky was only on the pitch when we conceded one of those goals. Would this be the goal he was flapping at?

I'd find the idea of signing a captain a bit weird.

He went to the near post but the ball was crossed low and behind him. I wondered whether he had been coached to go the post, and if so then he can't be blamed. On the other hand if not then his positioning was an issue. Having said that, the angle that the ball was crossed low at, it should have been someone from midfield to cut it out or put in the tackle and not Rocky.

I would like us to change captain. Hanlon has been through too much trauma in a Hibs kit for my liking.

Someone fresh and without baggage would be good.

We will have a new captain for this game. Who do you suggest should take over from Hanlon overall. Just to help him with the trauma he's been through.

No information just think it is possible LJ might have someone in mind he might want to bring someone from outside in. An example could be Australian international Bailey Wright centre back out of contract at Sunderland.

Wright has extended his contract at Sunderland.

If LJ was going to sign a player to come in and be captain I imagine they player would have been signed already. Marshall or McGeady (who LJ had as captain last season at Sunderland) could be contenders for the armband.

Just can't see any change of captain going down well with the squad. Especially if it's a new player brought in by LJ. Hanlon will remain captain I reckon.

Yes that's the one, the cross goes right through him.

The flapping I'm referring to is at the beginning of the same half (45:20) he looked less than assured when attempting to clear the ball and lays it on a plate for the attacker who should have scored.

I hate that he's been put through abuse by some numbskulls in our support and I do not condone that but I don't think he's good enough to start for Hibs.
