    Third set Murray 6-2.

He's really stepped it up now.

Short break for the roof being closed.

Not sure why he's so keen for the roof to be closed, this will suit Murray even more than it did with the roof open.

He was getting pummeled, probably his only chance to break Murray's rhythm a bit.

This is brilliant but if I was in charge I'd ban anyone singing "Let's go Andy let's go". Cringe 😂

The break to close the roof has given Duckworth his second wind. He’s back in the match and could get on top. This might go to five sets.

Yaaaaas Murray breaks and will serve for the match!

    Never in doubt - Murray wins 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-4!

John Isner up next on Wednesday.

Ah that was superb. Bring on big Isner!!

Heather Watson is a set down to Tamara Korpatsch.

Jodie Burrage lost earlier to Lesia Tsurenko.

Brilliant Andy. Always a joy to see him on Centre Court.

Just read that tube Djokovic's post-match quotes. Seems he may not be able to play in another Slam for a year as he's banned from Australia after his deportation and he can't play in the US Open due to being unvaccinated. Yet he claims that's a sacrifice worth making to avoid having a Covid jab. Selfish bellend.

I think there must be a chance that the rules on entering the USA will have been relaxed by the end of August but we'll see.

I also reckon there must be a chance that his ban from Australia will be overturned after their change of Government.

I watched Andy Murray last night, and i just have to say he is probably the best Scottish athlete we've ever had.

My admiration for him is huge, how he can play tennis at this level after what he's been through absolutely astounds me.

Matteo Berrettini withdraws from Wimbledon due to Covid-19.

Huge loss to the championships and really opens things up in the bottom half of the draw.

Stick on for Novak now I'd say.

I wouldn't count out Rafa. He's not had much grass court practice but the further he goes he'll probably get stronger.

I would expect so but Nadal has a lot of motivation given that he is going for the Calendar Year Grand Slam, and if successful is bidding to become the first man to achieve this in over 50 years and is also trying to extend his advantage over Djokovic in the number of Grand Slam titles.

At 36 years old he'll realise that such opportunities may not come round again. I'd love to see him do it, unless Murray makes a highly unlikely run to the final of course.

Great result for Wildcard Ryan Peniston as he beats Henri Laaksonen in straight sets.

He'll play Steve Johnson in round two.

Novax shouldn't have been allowed to enter.

Would love to see Rafa thrash him again but that will be harder on grass than clay.

  24. #53
Iga Swiatek makes it 36 wins in a row as she beats Jana Fett in straight sets.

  25. #54
Nadal drops the third set to Francisco Cerundolo.

    1-1 in the fourth set.

  26. #55
Cerundolo breaks to go 2-1 up in set four after a marathon game.

  27. #56
    3-1 Cerundolo.

Nadal not looking great right now.

  28. #57
Nadal was outstanding at the end of that match and wins in four sets.

Serena Williams on now, first match for 12 months so it will be interesting to see how this goes.

  29. #58
    Williams being pumped so far.
