One of my favourite two weeks of the year is almost here and the excitement is building after the draw has now been made.

Despite the controversy surrounding this year's tournament before a ball has been served, due to the All England Club's decision to ban Russian and Belarusian players from entering this year's tournament, play starts on Monday and I can't wait despite missing large parts of it due to work.

Andy Murray faces Australian James Duckworth in round one which is a match he should win. However he is in a tough quarter as he potentially faces former semi-finalist John Isner in round two, youngster Jannik Sinner awaits him in round three and then potentially a last 16 tie v Carlos Alcaraz.

He should get through round one (if he stays fit) but I'd suggest it's a tough draw overall for Murray.

A quarter final v Novak Djokovic would probably be in store if he gets that far.

9th seed Cam Norrie faces Pablo Andujar in round one and Queen's champion Matteo Berrettini plays Cristian Garin.

Rafael Nadal has made it and he opens up against Francisco Cerundolo.

One man who hasn't made it is Roger Federer. He has played in every Wimbledon event since making his debut in 1999 but he hasn't played since last year's Wimbledon and considering he will be 41 in a few weeks' time there must be a doubt as to whether we have seen him at SW19 for the final time.

On the women's side top seed Iga Swiatek is looking to extend her winning run which is currently at 35 matches. She plays her opening match v qualifier Jana Fett.

Although Federer won't be involved another Wimbledon legend has made it. Serena Williams also hasn't played since last year's Wimbledon but she has declared herself fit and will play Harmony Tan in round one.

Emma Raducanu will play Alison Van Uytvanck in her first round.

No ranking points will be at stake this year after the ATP and WTA punished Wimbledon for their aforementioned ban of players from Russia and Belarus but I'm sure we'll be in for a cracking fortnight.

Berrettini really shouldn't have any problems getting into the semis and I would love to see him playing Nadal. I would say he would be a great bet for the tournament.

Semis of Berrettini v Nadal and Hurkacz v Djokovic looks very possible.

Djokovic lost the second set v Soonwoo Kwon but did win sets one and three and is a break up in the fourth set so will probably be safely into round two.

In terms of major shocks we may be seeing one on Court Three as one of the favourites to go deep in this tournament is last year's semi-finalist Hubert Hurkacz but he is two sets down to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Hurkacz also making a bit of a comeback - he won set three and is a break up in set four.

This is exactly why I love men's Grand Slam tennis, even after losing the first two sets a player can still come back to win the match.

Raducanu on now on Centre Court so expect Murray on at some point between 6 - 6.30pm.
