He seems to have done well since leaving Hibs. Sometimes timing goes against you.

Heckingbottom made a fool of himself tonight in well overreacting. He coulr quite easily have been red carded.

Forest were held back by officals from going down the tunnel at the break to avoid trouble in there. They also waited until Sheffield Utd were all out on the pitch before coming out again.

There was huge 'exhuberance' after the game and Heckingbottom claimed 'there's a jail sentence there' about some incident where the Blades' Billy Sharp was supposed to have been assaulted apparently.

Hecky is a weird one, started his time with us well.

Recruitment in the summer we thought was poor due to form but when he left

    Newell
    Allan
    Doidge
    Jackson
    Jason Naismith

Etc all picked up in form, I also think he could have got more out of Glen Middleton.

He’s right about the Billy Sharp incident, the boy will be in a lot of trouble for that.

Its a shocker, that could have resulted in a very serious head injury for Sharp.

Won at Tynecastle and picked the pieces up after Lennon and got us top six from nowhere. He's alright by me.

He’s bang on. Sharp was head butted FfS. You are out of your mind to suggest that’s ok.

If you read posts #7 and #8 you'll see he's not out of his mind.

It didn't work out for Hecky at Hibs, but he always came across as a good guy and I've been happy to see him do well this season. Hopefully he can continue that next year. Sometimes the circumstances aren't right, sometimes they are. Failure at one club doesn't necessarily mean someone can be written off as a bad manager.

The only thing that went against him was his brain-dead decision to bin all our defensive midfielders and not replace them. He'd still be in charge if he played DM's

Started with 2 tonight. No real shock that his career has turned around since he worked that out.

That, Doidge on his own up front, Newell as a left winger, wanting rid of Marciano and getting Maxwell in as no. 1 etc.

Also, after making top 6, the only team we beat after was Hearts.

There were a few things he didn't do very well. We'd have been relegated if we hadn't got rid when we did.

You obviously haven't seen the assault, Stu. It was a headbutt delivered by someone who was sprinting.

It was brutal and could have done some serious damage.

Edit; I've just seen your subsequent posts. 👍

Paul was no more responsible for signing players than he was for binning them. The ‘Hibernian Way’ profile of bringing in ball players rather than battlers and the football department who signed and released / failed to renew contracts were to blame there.

Bartley, Milligan, Gogic, Hallberg and even Omeonga were all ball-winning midfielders but were apparently not players who fitted the mould. This season we have been crying out for a midfield who can stop the opposition from running at or through us. It’s not a lack of skill that resigned us to bottom six but a lack of protection in front of an otherwise pretty solid defence.

No worries mate. No one would condone an incident like that, it was hideous.

    Absolutely shocking.

His team had just won ffs.

I hope he gets time for that. If that's what he's like after his team win a crucial match he's undoubtedly capable of much worse.

Season ticket holder as well. So be a life ban from Forest facing him also.

Imagine having the best moment your team have had in years and ‘celebrating’ by doing that.

Or ......our form would have picked up when Boyle returned to the team under Hecky just as it did under Ross. I think we made recruitment mistakes under Hecky but not sure they were all his doing. If remember rightly, he wanted Omeonga back but we weren't prepared to spend what it cost. Ultimately you get the quality of player you pay for.

Exactly. Crazy, dangerous behaviour and being punished accordingly.

Ten year football banning order. Should really be lifetime ban.

Police are investigating Oli McBurnie too for for allegedly stamping on a fan.
