Think we played in 2010 down there and there was some aggro then.
They basically hate Scots. A tradition spreading back Centuries.

Agree, let’s not go back there. Hardly an away trip (just over the border) and it’s a grim town.

Like I said, Bristol City or Swindon Town please.

    In order of preference:

    Lincoln
    Sheffield Wednesday
    Sheffield United
    Middlesborough
    Cardiff
    Huddersfield
    Ipswich
    Wimbledon
    Bristol City
    Bristol Rovers
    Blackpool
    Preston

Reckon it's all pie in the sky though. LC fixtures will make an away jaunt to England nigh on impossible.

Another reason I hate the LC format. I preferred when we got a bye into the games at late September.

I've been to Carlisle loads of times and never had any hassle for being Scottish.

Mon Hibs announce Huddersfield away. 😁

    I would just love that.

In my experience, their support are nearly as miserable as us!

    😆

I don’t see why, most if not all of those teams will be playing friendlies in that first week of July before we start the cup games

I remember the hurriedly arranged game at Selhurst Park in February 1978, due to a weather wipe out throughout the country, although London was relatively frost free.

Ally McLeod, scored the only goal in a game memorable, by the outstanding performance of the 17yo Palace left-back, Kenny Sansom.

Think it was announced on the Friday afternoon , the day before the game . A few fans got on night sleeper in time for game .

In the days before the WWW, I only got to know about it lunchtime on the Saturday. Although I was living in Bethnal Green at the time, I got in just before half-time and immediately saw Ally McLeod waltz through the Palace defence and score what turned out to be the only goal, such was the then dreadful transport links in South London before DLR.

Peterhead, Montrose, Albion Rovers, Annan and Stenhousemuir are the 5 grounds I need to complete the set. So any of those away in the group stages please. (I know they're split into North and Southern sections so 2, maybe 3 of those teams we are unlikely to face)

They've done away with the regional splits this year so we could get any team.

I didn't know that, good news for me I suppose, means theres a chance of a decent Saturday away day plus getting to tick off a ground that I need.

That’s right, draw is on Wednesday 1pm, although can’t see SPFL changing a game for a friendly

It’s not changing a game though, it’s just giving us that weekend free. Plenty teams have done this before, and we wouldn’t have announced the friendly unless we’d agreed this in advance.

I was living in Aldershot when Hibs played a hastily arranged friendly there.

Before the WWW and the first I knew about it was when I saw two guys in Hibs scarves walking through the shopping centre after the game!

I was gutted to say the least.

I hope so as I'm going to book my train and hotel Wednesday for the Norwich game.

I went to Aldershot against Fergie's Aberdeen [early 1984], 4-0 to the Scottish side, I had plenty of notice for that one. I can't remember Hibs playing there though, that must have been dreadful for you though.

Its a pointless friendly mate, save your money, they are playing Celtic the day before us. They will play their under 20s v us. No wonder its free to ST holders.
