Clark aside there isn't one player on either team in that game I would take at Hibs. Standard was dreadful.

Agreed, however good to hear that Johnson is taking in games

    Robbie Deas?

Sure we were linked (maybe just on here) with him before along with a couple of SPFL teams.

Reece Maclear is another after doing going from Motherwell to Norwich where he’s just been released from. Must admit I know nothing about him other than his 2 goals from the other night.

Yes he looked lively as did the lad on loan from Dundee United, Chalmers? The best player for S.J was Melker Hallberg!

He’d have just been there to take in a game as there’s very little else happening right now and a good opportunity to get a feel for Scottish football again.

    That would be my guess.

Was missing with concussion, not sure if he’d have been aware of that heading up.
That was probably why he was there but wouldn't have known if McCart was unable to play. Personally think McCart would be a decent signing

Could Hallberg do a job for us though? 😁

So do I great attacking threat quick big and strong and tries like a bear in a game.

Don't think anyone from last night is good enough tbh, but I thought that Brown for St J had a decent game. Made some really important challenges to stop Caley in the first half

He made that run for his goal in the 90th minute of the game, seriously impressive pace after that amount of time.

I rate Rooney in an attacking sense. Not so sure defensively.

I don’t mind Rooney but as someone else said, I think his position is one we’re very well stocked in.

I think that may suit LJ.

Where would he play as LJ doesn’t seem to play wing backs and he’s not good enough defensively to play RB?

We're deeming him not good enough to play defensively, LJ might think he is for the way he wants to play.

I doubt we’re interested, but if we’re looking at Shaun Rooney for his attacking abilities then that’s one of the most depressing things I’ve ever heard about Hibs.

Well, he had more heart, and more goals in him, than the whole Jack Ross XI plus subs did, at Hampden, this time last year.

I don’t think he’s better than either Cadden or Clarke and I’d even go as far as saying McGinn would offer us more than Rooney should LJ prefer the back 4 option than the wing backs, I think he looks good in quite a poor side to take him out that he’d be nowhere near as impressive…..a bit like everyone else we’ve ever taken from St.J

Actually forgot Clarke would still be with us next season. Rooney not required.

Where is Lee going to fit Cadden and Clarke into his team?
Both I’d suggest best positions are as wingbacks

Probably one starts and one sits on the bench. That is assuming everyone is fit and available which in reality is never the case.

If we play a 4-4-2, I think the 2 of them would work well interchanging down the right.

Charlie Adam had more heart and as many goals as any the Hibs XI plus subs a couple of weeks ago...should we sign him tae?

Cadden would certainly work on the right of a 442 with Clarke behind him. I think that would be a very strong, physical right side.

  29. #1648
Are we thinking we’re going 442?

I can’t find much info on LJ’s preferred formation.

Some say 433, some say 4231 or 442.

I found an article that said a back 5 for a while too.

Tbh, no idea. Hopefully he builds a system to suit our better players instead of doing a Maloney.

Im sure he prefer a 4-3-3 , he did at Sunderland and did his recruitment around that formation I'm sure.

From the Northern Echo 21/04/21( shared this before 😁)

WHATEVER league Sunderland are playing in next season, Lee Johnson has revealed he will be recruiting players this summer to fit into the 4-3-3 formation he fielded at Hull City last night.

Johnson has chopped and changed systems on a number of occasions since taking over in December, but most of the tinkering has been a response to the injury issues that have blighted the Black Cats in the second half of the season.

Ideally, Johnson wants his side to line up as they did at the KCOM Stadium, with a flat back four, a relatively narrow central midfield, and two wide attackers flanking a central striker
