Always like that one, also Carlisle, Liverpool and Dorset in the South West

Is it? I looked at google maps and it doesn't look like it's particularly close tbh.

    Edinburgh is 3.18 west.

    Cardiff 3.16 west.

Presumably, these are measured at the centre. So Edinburgh is further west, just.

Yeah it's pretty close, and obviously it depends on exactly where you put the centre, but every source I've looked at has Edinburgh's longitude slightly further west than Cardiff's.

On a similar note, Edinburgh is further North than Copenhagen.

Elgin City are the most Northern senior Scottish fitba club.

By a fraction of a degree, Moscow (55.75º), Edinburgh (55.95º) and Copenhagen (55.67º) all lie on the same line of latitude. There are only 8 countries whos capitals are further North than Edinburgh. Nuuk (Greenland) is the furthest North of all Capitals (64.17º)

    I'm missing 1

This list has 6, plus Nuuk = 7

Peterheads Balmoor ground is the furthest senior football ground from any mainline railway station. The closest being Inverurie which 31.3 miles by the road.

Missing Tôrshaven in the Faroes, you could also include Svalbard a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic ocean, Capital Longyearbyen which is 78.13º North but it is essentially Norwegian territory and Longyearbyen is the administrative centre. These are probably missing because of the same reason Edinburgh is missing. All three are self governed but under the sovereignty of Denmark, Norway and the UK.

My list is Riga, Stockholm, Tallinn, Oslo, Helsinki, Torshaven, Reykjavik and Nuuk

Until the 19th century for millenia, people would have 2 sleeps. One between 9 and 11. Then be up from about 11 till 1am. Then a second sleep from 1 until morning.

The industrial revolution and artificial light meant we stayed up longer but still got up the same time so just had 1 big sleep. Good article I read on it

    - Sweating like a pig? Pigs like dogs do not have sweat glands, dogs overcome this by panting and having a tendency to dive into any available water/mud on a sunny day. Pigs wallow in mud to prevent overheating. This fact is just another reason certain methods of pig farming are extremely cruel.

Motherwell won the Copa del Rey, beating Real Madrid in the final and it is in their trophy cabinet.

Ok, it was an unofficial version, but still!

You get more pizza in one 18" pizza than you do in two 12" pizzas.

If you could put a rope around the equator and you then added 3 feet in length to it, it could now sit just under 6 inches off the ground all the way around.

    Ooft

I'll be honest. I doubted that.

Someone mentioned this to me today on the way to the match
A Cadburys flake never melts in the microwave,

The theory behind the Flake's inability to melt is apparently because it's made out of dehydrated milk chocolate, which means it slowly hardens until the sugar burns rather than melting.

Please don’t try this at home, disclaimer alert!

Do the same with the rope around your waist and the answer is the same.
