Are they sure 6 weeks will be enough?

Though I think two or three of the teams from Ukraine are training out of the country at the moment.

Going to be a much tougher match now than it would've been without the war I reckon.

I read yesterday that the Ukrainian FA have confirmed the players will join up for a training camp in Western Europe at the end of this month, they are planning on playing France and someone else in a friendly before the Semi Final.

Can't believe they expect Scotland to play 5 games in 14 days going by the fixtures above.
Full time Clubs would be complaining about that amount of games, and they've not got all the travel to go with it????

Yeah it's a tough schedule, only saving grace is that all matches except the trip to Armenia would be held in the British Isles so not too much travelling involved.

Ukraine will play German Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach on 11 May in preparation for their football World Cup play-off semi-final against Scotland.
The friendly at Borussia-Park will be Ukraine men's first game since their country was invaded by Russia.
All profits from the match will be donated to Ukrainian charities.
Ukraine last played in November, winning 2-0 away to Bosnia-Herzegovina to secure their place in the World Cup play-offs.
Scotland host Ukraine at Hampden Park in Glasgow on 1 June, with the winner progressing to the final against Wales in Cardiff four days later.

Wearing the message United for Ukraine on their shirts, Ukraine’s national men’s team won its second straight friendly since the Russian invasion by beating Italian Serie A club Empoli 3-1. Having also beaten German club Borussia Moenchengladbach last week in their first game back, Ukraine’s national team players are attempting to get fit ahead of a crucial World Cup qualifying playoff against Scotland next month.

The numbers on the back of Ukraine players’ shirts against Empoli were composed of the names of the country’s cities that have been under attack since Russian troops invaded on February 24.

Ukraine next plays Croatian club Rijeka. EDIT - just noticed that the game was on 18th May and ended 1-1.

I think our game against Ukraine is going to be very difficult. Under normal circumstances, I was confident that we would progress as the game is being played at Hampden. Now, I'm not that confident. Ukraine have some pretty decent players and the pride they have in their country will make them very difficult to beat.

I'm assuming that the squad will be announced today, especially as the next game is next Wednesday. Media suggesting that it's going to be quite a large squad as we've five games (hopefully) including the Nations League games to play in a short time period.

Think it will be a huge squad as the big teams won't want their players playing all games. Can see a very much reduced squad away to Armenia

I'm not sure they are, I reckon you should have received them by email to print out or scan. Check your confirmation email.

Hellish news, but not unexpected. We may well have O'Donnell starting against Ukraine too.
Will Steve Clarke want to crowbar McTominay into the back three again with Hanley? McKenna and Cooper are lefties but don't offer anything like what KT does.
McKenna playing in Forest's play-off final just a few days before the game - or will he chuck Souttar in after one game in months?

He's already played for us. Away to Moldova and another. Done well at Stoke this season.

Like most of Clarke's squad he was born in Yorkshire.

Liam Cooper is the only other one I can think of.

    Very strange comment.

Looks like the last train back to Edinburgh is 10:15 on that night on the new timetable.

Might be worth remembering for anyone from these parts who - like me - are planning on going to the game.

It is, from Queen Street. No way fans will make that train unless they leave the game very early. If its goes to ET and Pen theres no way back by train.

Still hoping they put on extra trains for after the game.

Going to be chaos next Wednesday.

Unlikely because the emergency timetable is in place because theres not enough drivers and they are not working overtime either so they won't have enough staff to provide any extra services.

Meetings tomorrow apparently. Surely some solution can be found. Utter shambles cancelling the late trains.
