Good domestic fighter but won’t ever reach the elite work class level

I think he's getting there. He's certainly got the backing of the best and he's very, very smart. He hates Saunders too which helps. Kelbie, ****.

No wonder he hates him after the beating he handed him

Saunders is a kelbie ****. Eubank would smash him given the chance now.

Easy for me to come in and say now after reading the comments from the last few days but I don’t understand the comments about Brook. I thought he looked tremendous at the weigh in and came across as hungry. His only weakness was how much he seemed to want the win.

As for Khan post fight he was clever enough to dodge saying Brook was better.

I just dislike him eh and find him very arrogant so was delighted for Kell tonight.

Can't believe he's 32, time could be up before winning any defining fights

Read somewhere that his old man retired at 32. JR is still a few fights away from a world title fight. Can’t believe he’s Sky’s poster boy when they have a proper PFP champ in their books.

Could tell that neither of them have been active recently, khan just wasn't good enough, used to depend on his speed and clearly that isnt what it used to be, hopefully now thats them both retired as they could get seriously injured

I thought Brooke looked excellent. I gathered that was also the opinion of the boxing community?

Horrible to see the video of Phil Foden’s Mum being punched in the commotion backstage. She pushed the guy first after the verbal abuse but FFS big brave guy punching a woman.

I said this to my mate earlier - why is it the case?

Taylor’s promotion really should be answering some tough questions - he’s not on Box Office next week - just free to air Sky (showcase). Mental for an undisputed and undefeated champion.

That connects with that guys head the guys in hospital probably in critical condition.

Seems to be violence from members of Fodens family aswell as the other guys goading so pretty difficult to defend either side.

Just posted this on the main board thread, sorry for the cut & paste lol

McGuigan’s decision to go down the WBSS route was an inspired decision that ultimately gave Josh the opportunity to become undisputed but had he gone with Steady Eddie and Sky a few years ago, he’d be a bigger household name and have a bigger bank balance…..but less belts. I just hope he can cash in now with some mega fights.

Being Scottish rather than English means he doesn't get the same word of mouth following down south, he's still relatively unknown.

That is also due to sky not featuring him. He was on a rival tv channel so they had no intention of building him up to generate views on other channels.

There’s also the fact that he’s a complete bellend with all his anti vax nonsense. I think he’s an unbelievable boxer, one of the best Scottish fighters ever, but I’m not sure if I’ll even watch it. While he’s winning fights and titles he’ll get away with it, but as soon as he starts losing he’ll be dropped like a stone.

    United we stand here....

Exactly how I feel. Never watched him fight.

You have never watched him fight because of his anti vaxx stance?

So even in his fights we'll before the pandemic, when he unites the belts, you didn't watch? That doesn't really make much sense.

The two aren't related. I've never watched him AND I think his anti vax stance marks him as a bellend. Doesn't need to make sense to you.

Aye, that and the other (unrelated) incident with the bouncer doesn't exactly set him up to be a media poster boy.

Boxer in being a bit of a fanny shock. 🤣 Have you seen AJ’s history before becoming World champion? Didn’t stop Sky being all over him.

Apologies, meant no offence. Just surmised that if you hadn’t watched any of Scotland’s best boxer in decades in any of his fights before Covid struck, you’re probably not a big fan of the sport.

That's absolutely no problem. I'm a boxing fan ok but not of him. I have my reasons which I won't go into here.

Interesting- you’d think Hearn etc would be all over him now, chucking contracts at him?

He's with top rank now who are massive but American. His fights will probably be more in America now probably. I think he's been given this fight at the hydro as a homecoming then he could be back over for possible super fights, Lopez, Spence, Crawford
