Didn’t one of them pass away recently? Love their crest picked up a pin badge years back. Seem like a good community club.

Monday thinking liversedge v Brighouse town.

My mate used to play for liversedge when used to get under 100 and I went a few times. Now around 1000 expected for this. Brighouse used to be a pub team back in the day.

Reckon if Hibs get a result I'll go.

In the away end with my mate so guess we're behind the goal.

Just arrived in Leeds for game 2.

Enjoyed Altrincham. Nice set up I though. Ground decent too and I was impressed with the amount of home fans.

Think there was around 800 from Halifax.

I have not lived there , but Costorphine. However my grandad , an ex director of Hibs , when Sir Jock Bruce was chairman, my great aunt & his dad & grandfather lived there ,
for over 90 years in the same house , & before that , the family only moved from Market St.
    Thanks for asking .

    Two down one to go.

If tomorrow is as good as the last 5 secs ending in Leeds we're in for an unforgettable day tomorrow.

Wow wow wow. Scoring in the last min to win is always the best.

Glad you enjoyed it. Pity I couldn't have stood you a beer. I'm night shift this weekend so not really feeling being awake at noon.

If you're ever around this way again let me know. I love ground hoping and Manchester and the North West has loads of really good grounds.

Alty are well backed, especially when the bigger clubs don't play or are away. As are Stockport in the same circumstances.

I bet your chippy wasn't anywhere near scottish standards though?

Think I may do Stockport v Halifax at end of season but in away end. Done Stockport before though.

Only live over the hill in Yorkshire so will be over at some point.

Chippy was really good but not quite up to Yorkshire standard. I'd say that's best had even better than Scottish standards.

    Next weekend visiting :-

Spurs ground on Saturday for the RL final
Wembley on Sunday for championship play off final

The following Sunday if Halifax town get to the play off final I'll be ticking West ham off. I did go to their old ground just not the new one yet.

Funny enough the old west ham game I went to finish 5-3 I think. Fletcher was playing for Burnley and scored.

Going to the rugby on Saturday. Bath v London Irish.

Bath are having a miserable season. I’m looking forward to sinking a few ciders in the sun, more than the actual game if I’m being honest.

Just back from the fantastically named Humbug Park watching Crossgates Primrose playing Penicuik Athletic in a League Cup tie.

£6 to get in, Crossgates were 2 up at half time, Penicuik scored 3 goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half, Crossgates equalised with a great free kick a few minutes from the end then won it 2 minutes from the end of extra time.

Good entertainment, both teams went forward for the full match and we had the bonus of watching one of the linesman struggling to get back up after tying his laces only to fall on his arse.

Proper football helped by about 20 ‘ultras’ whose average age was probably about 12 making a decent racket.

I tried to get tickets for York v Boston today but it sold out in an hour. Shame as fancied a first visit there. Been to thier old ground near the centre before used to like it.

Hope York win though as will pay them a visit next season in the national league.

I didn't realise York had moved from Botham Crescent. Used to enjoy a trip there.

New stadium looks a nice set up but seems to be in the middle of nowhere.

I have actually been to the site before as there used to be a RL ground there (Lanchashire Hibs reckons it's same site).

From memory it was about 2 junctions further on A64.

I'd guess a couple of miles from the centre if so. For anyone reading this thread York is well worth a visit, great place.

Looking to get over to Scarborough too at some point. Really liked their old ground and was a shame what happened to them.

I believe both seating stands were transported to Fev RL ground.

This weekend I went to a few different sporting venues. Not all football though.

Friday- Oval cricket ground 20/20 cricket game, really nice but had without doubt one of the worst pints of beer ever.

Saturday - Lords cricket ground. No game but I blagged my way in through security who showed us around. Spot on.

    - Tottenham Stadium. WOW. What a ground top 3 defo. Ended up in expensive seats but wow it was amazing. Half way line and very posh inside. Padded seats etc. £70.00 class afternoon. Only downside and it's small annoyance is transport links back to central London is slow. Rugby league final.

Sunday- Wembley play off final. Been to Wembley a few times but completed every side by going behind the east side goal.

Rough, glad I booked today off work. Ha

Scarborough just promoted to National League North, looking to get down there to watch Chorley this coming season.

I was at the new York stadium a few weeks ago for the play-off with Chorley. Nice stadium, but a bit soulless too, like so many of these out of town stadiums now unfortunately.

Wembley is very good. Well set up to get to and once inside it's huge.

I actually really like it for watching sport. Head down to a game. Wasn't sold out in the Huddersfield end yesterday so was easy to get a ticket.

Plenty of money needed in London though.

Wembley is really good for watching football. I had the good fortune to have a son who worked for the FA so I got free tickets for a few years to te FA cup semis and Final and England games. Also got tickets to 3 Euro games last summer including Scotland\England. Went to a couple of NFL games a couple of years ago too. Unfortunately he has now left the FA.
