    Catering

Had a luke warm pie in FF upper and my son in law had a burger. He felt ill during the match and has been violently sick since we got home. Anyone else had any problems?

Bought a hotdog for my son - it was cold. Other son had a pie which was fine. West Upper.

If I was in the FF I’d be more worried about abandonment issues. Merry Xmas.

I got a steak pie from the FF Upper kiosk midway through the first half. It was lukewarm and the filling was extremely dry.

Takes longer than that for a reaction from food unless you actually stuff yourself.
If food is not at the right temperature just take it back and get a refund ( I realise it’s a pain queuing twice of course )

I had a steak pie and a scotch pie pre match in the East and they were both fine.
To be honest I've never had a problem there since the stand was built.
The pie quality from brick outhouse out the back of the old East however....☠️

Waited 15 minutes for a curry pie pre game and the que wasn’t even that big. The guys behind the counter try their best but it’s far too slow. Unsure if they realise they can start to pour drinks while fetching your pie.

    Pie was lovely though

Catering has improved ten fold IMHO. Had my first pies of the season last night and it was a huge improvement on recent years. The queues are going down very quickly now, due to no cash and more staff probably.

Do you not notice if your pie is cold when you pick it up?!

good news but probably also to do with the sheer lack of people going to games?

Likewise had my first pie in probably a couple of seasons at the Celtic game in October and it was fine. Nothing remarkable but no reason for complaint either.

I can think of three or four excellent purveyors of pies within a mile or so of the stadium - Allan's at Restalrig; Fraser's at Craigentinny; Storries on Leith Walk and Anderson's on Junction Street. Far better than the industrial frozen-then-reheated-school-dinner style offering at Easter Road. That said, I doubt whether any of them could or would have capacity to take on a stadium contract.

Unlikely to be caused by the burger, folk often blame the last thing eaten when in reality onset times for food bacteria to affect you can be as much as 72 hours.

    Depending on what you've ate.

Symptoms begin*30 minutes to 8 hours*after exposure:*Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps. Most people also have diarrhea.

(Hope your son's feeling better soon - obvious things but get in touch with NHS24, report it to the club. They should be routinely making sure that food is cooked to a certain safe temperature to kill any bacteria so worth them checking to make sure that staff have done so).

IIRC from my time working at a fast food outlet as a student this should be recorded in some form. Worth seeing if they have that.

Got a steak roll at a golf tournament once . Took 15 mins till I had to run to the woods , straight across Ernie Els approaching his second shot , he wasn't pleased but " needs must " .

Just my two pence on this. Scotch pie and bovril at half-time the other night. Bit of a queue but no real problem. Still made it back for the start of the second half. Pie was lovely. Bovril warm and tasty. Staff friendly and helpful. I think it’s moving in the right direction

Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but I decided to have a pie and Bovril last night, as I hadn't had any tea.

There were 4 staff in the section I queued for, with only one serving customers (this was East Stand) and the rest getting the orders (surely 2 pairs of 2 taking orders/getting food would have been better). Queue wasn't big, so probably 3-5 minute wait. Asked for a steak pie and Bovril. Girl asked me if I was a season ticket holder, so I got a whopping 23p off.

Went and sat down to find I'd been given a mince pie that was lukewarm. Couldn't be bothered going back to exchange it, but think that'll be me not buying a pie again. if I do buy something, I'll stick to the hot dogs, which are always hot and the chips, which are great.

Just wondered if I was just unlucky or if other people had the same experience?

I didn’t have anything last night, but have had a couple of pies previously this season under the new operation and can’t say I noticed any difference to those pies of old? Reasonable enough but nothing special. A 7/10 at best.

I got a chicken pie instead of steak... but I'm addicted to the new chips...
