    Album of the year

Interested in hearing what people would consider to be the best album of 2021, and yes I do insist on one album as opposed to a list!

I'm saying 'As Days Get Dark' by Arab Strap. Very rarely does a band reunite and put out their best album but it's an absolute corker.

Manic Street Preachers - The Ultra Vivid Lament. Very possibly their best album IMO.

Blue Weekend by Wolf Alice of Kings Disease II by Nas.

Totally different obviously but both amongst the best the respective artists have released.

It Won’t Always Be Like This by Inhaler. Best debut album since Happiness by Hurts ten years ago IMHO.

Coral Island for me this year.

Hasn't been a long list that I've been into this year, only 2 or 3 albums have made a lasting impression.

For me it’s probably Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under, but I also loved the new War On Drugs album.

Space Afrika - Honest Labour.....Looking at a lot of the things Ive had on repeat this year they don't seem to have come from this year... so ....apart from already mentioned Arab Strap & Sleaford Mods this has been my standout.

A lot of the stuff I've listened to this year was released in 2020, which proved to be really good for new music. If pushed for best album of 2021 I'd probably go for The Eternal Rocks Beneath by Katherine Priddy. Saw her twice this year and she is quite captivating.

Here's a song from the album

A late contender is the new album from the Spell Songs crew, Let the Light In, but this only came out this week so still taking it in.

Public Service Broadcasting - Bright Magic

Think this would be my choice
