Thread: James Scott

    James Scott

What’s the deal with this guy?

Came in on loan and went straight in the team. Looked slightly unfit and lacking sharpness.

Eventually got dropped and never done much when he came on.

Over a month ago dropped from the squad completely as he’s too unfit? How can a player sign and go straight into the team and after a couple of months with us be dropped for being unfit?

Regardless it seems like he’ll be in from the cold on Saturday as we need a striker

Not one that gives a **** about being here. If we have to rely on him we’re really in trouble.

    United we stand here....

He was a quick, direct and skilful winger who chipped in with a decent amount of goals, assists and created chances at Motherwell.

God knows what’s happened to him since leaving there other than gaining weight.

That’s exactly what we need with a suspended Boyle. Where is that player? Honestly - it’s ridiculous how he’s turned out

He was there tonight but not stripped. Walked past us at half time.

He’s not very good and certainly not a striker, from what I’ve seen so far. Might get a chance to prove me wrong at the weekend now.

He was a signing made at a time of panic.

I've no idea how good a player he actually is. What I do know is he was on his way back from a fairly serious injury and a lengthy spell on the sidelines when he signed. He was never going to hit the ground running. He may well be another Magennis and shine with a full pre season behind him, that's no use to us though.

Cut our losses and send him packing in January. Whatever percentage of his wage we are paying could be spent better elsewhere.

Just another in the long line of Hibs panic buys/loans towards the end of a transfer window.

Nearly all in a bid to cover up our inadequate transfer activity prior to that.

Look forward to more of the same come January.

It was a transfer window you would’ve expected from hibs pre relegation but it’s been unheard recently. Coming back to bite us now

A classic hibs signing along with wood.

One hasn’t kicked a ball in 12 months

The other untried and 19 and we wonder why the squad is down the bare bones.

It’s already cost Mathie his job so I guess there is no point going on about too much. Let’s hope we can repair the damage in January.

In his 11 games the only thing I remember him doing is sort of being able to run in a straight line.

Wood signing is weird as anything.

Our new CEO hasn’t a clue about our link up with Brighton. Hearts bring in a centre half from Brighton that is really good and we bring in some young boy from Boro randomly overlooking the boy they got.

Is just lip service all the time when it comes to the club the now.

Hearts signed a LWB from Brighton, not a centre back.

The Brighton link up wasn’t about players.

Panic signing as was Wood. Neither have improved us or even strengthened the squad and i'd expect both to be away in January.

Thing that gets me is you could see Wood signing was a panic buy after missing out on McCart yet some posters still couldn’t admit it. Was clear as day

Wood hasn't had the chance to show what he is or is not capable of. He was always brought in as back up, and the game he could potentially have come in for people would have been saying why not the more experienced McGregor had he been chosen. Unfortunately for us McGregor went on to have an absolute mare.

I'm not saying he's been a good signing, but it's unfair to call him a failure. I unfortunately can't stick up for Scott in the same way, he's been a genuine disappointment.

If it wasn't about players then it should have been. The whole link up/partnership seems to have just been a bit of a PR stunt.

It was a partnership that was based on sharing methods and ideas. Who knows what good will come of it but if it's of benefit and Hibs feel it will be positive then why is it a stick used to beat the club with?

Imagine a scenario in which we take 3 players on loan, they come in and make an impact, one gets recalled in January because they need a full back or something, so we are left floundering looking to replace a player who will leave a hole in the team. Then that happens every season, with 2 or 3 players needing replaced every time.

Or the way I suspect it would go more often: the loanees come in, make no impact, cost us wages and we all sit here saying "what was the point in setting this up if all we're getting is ***** players?".

Mathie should have concentrated more on bringing suitable players in than creating pointless link ups with clubs.

Or sold players who we were getting offered money that the management team thought was more than their value and wanted to sell and had players in mind to replace them but seems his personal crusade to break the transfer record ultimately landed us in an absolute mess.

    And breathe lol
