    Team v Ross County

What are we thinking will be the team we see tonight?

A huge 90 minutes for the majority of the squad after 3 weeks off could result in some being a bit leggy or having knocks.

    Porteous suspended

    For me I’d go;

    …………………….Macey…………

    ………McGinn……Wood…..Hanlon…

    Cadden……JDH………..Newell………Doig…..

    …………………..Campbell……..

    ……………Boyle…………..Nisbet…..

Be really interesting to see how Campbell does tonight are more of a creator as well likely see more of the ball.

Wood in instead of Mcgregor for me. Whilst he wasn’t brilliant against Dundee United, no one was and IMO Mcgregor has been really poor this season and looks very suspect with the ball.

Ross County are a very quick team with Hungbo and Charles Cook so I’d like Wood’s pace and also his ball playing ability.

I imagine Mcgregor will start however due to experience and to mark Jordan White.

Wood not in squad again, must be away as no mention of injury

Can only assume Wood is away. Makes no sense to start Daz unless we have no one else.

    A horrific acquisition.

Appears captaining the England U20’s doesn’t automatically make you a good player.

He had one game. No way can you decide he is horrific based on that.

    More than a tad melodramatic.

Jack Ross made no reference to him in the interview with Hibs TV whilst mentioning all the injuries and suspensions.

Must be away. Hopefully we have a replacement lined up already

Surely we’ve not allowed Wood to go?

In fairness I’ve not seen him in any of the training videos lately. But allowing him to leave leaves us ridiculously short in an already vulnerable position for us.

Just shows you, came with a reputation of a very promising player as England under 20 captain and rumoured to be wanted for 9 million or so by bigger clubs.

The manager seems to have decided he’s not good enough having seen him every day. A poor signing.

I wouldn't be writing him off so quickly, might not work for him up here but, he still has loads of potential.

So if Daz or Hanlon get injured who comes on or moves in? McGinn? Gogic?

That's an odd one that Wood isn't on the bench if the thinking is that 90 minutes could be a reach for Daz and we wanted to swap like for like late on. If Daz or Hanlon take a knock we will go three at the back?

Not a case of me writing him off, just at times I know fans (me especially) can fall into the hope that we’ve found a real player based on x,y and z based on various things but it doesn’t always workout.

Shows how hard it is to sign a player that is good and works out. For every Newell there’s a Vela, for every Boyle there’s a Drey Wright.

Asking a 19 year old bit part Middlesbrough player to come in and do a job in the Premiership was a huge ask. Not his fault but agreed, poor signing.

Wood needs to be playing for someone, he’s not going to get better sitting on benches.

He had some decent moments, had a few ropey ones, but he just looked inexperienced.

For all that - I understand why Ross has cast him out. We can’t afford to have a raw youngster making mistakes for us that will ultimately end up benefitting another club. It’s too early for him to be playing for us.

McGinn would cover and Cadden would play RB if playing 4 at the back.
