    Did Boyle Make History

Did Boyle make Hibernian history by becoming our first player to score a Hampden hatrick? Can we now say he is officially a Hibs legend, who would be in our Hall Of Fame?

How have we managed to keep him for so long?!?

Has a Hibs player ever scored a first half hat-trick?

He's the first Hibs player to score three against Rangers in the cup.

Yip, I was in the army at that time stationed in Germany. Couldn't get a leave pass so as it was the weekend, & was not on guard duty, thought I wouldn't be missed as long as I was on parade on the Monday morning so left & drove back. However......missed my ferry from Dover to Calais, ( only ran every 6 hrs in those days) & didn't get back until 0930hrs, 90 min late. Charged with being awol & got 2 Weeks in regimental guardhouse.
Not a happy weekend that one.

Eric Stevenson went AWOL when he was meant to be playing for Ayr United to watch the HIBS beat Celtic at Hampden in the 1972 League Cup Final

Harper's would never be counted as a hat trick now, at least one was a clear og.

Boyle is a Hibs legend. Cup winner, still here. Lucky to have him really. One of the best bits of business Hibs have ever done in my opinion.
