I can’t get my head around it still not being sold out, especially with the outcry when it was announced we were not getting a 50/50 split. How can anyone simply choose not to go to a cup final? Are people seriously no going because they can’t sit beside their pals for 90 minutes?
It’s pretty clear that 10-20% of our usual fans are being very cautious re Covid and not going to home games and a final where you might be on a bus or a train is even more concerning , particularly with the emergence around omicron

Its nothing to do with covid and everything to do with what ringothedog says. People aren't going as we have next to no chance of a win. If St Johnstone snuck through and we were playing them we'd have 30,000 next Sunday.

Not that bothered about the crowd. Bit of a ridneck moaning about tickets and not selling out right enough.

They aren't true hibs fans. Fair enough if there is genuine reasons you can't go but not going just because they think we won't win is a ***** excuse.
Of course they are real Hibs fans, they are just making a choice not to travel through to Hampden. I don’t see the problem with that

That’s even worse then. No going because they’re scared of a doing off Celtic, some supporters they are if that’s the case. Surely more to do with covid than anyone with attitudes like that

Just don't understand why you wouldn't want to get behind your team for a LC final unless you are worried about covid or other reasons.

This is an increasing concern. The new variant appears to spread more vigorously and anyone catching it next Sunday effectively cancels their family Christmas at the very best.

I don't know what advice we'll receive from the Government's medical advisers but some hard decisions might be needed.

I've got my ticket and intend to be there .... but a week is a long time when it comes to covid numbers escalating.

If you can drive through then there’s more chance of you getting covid going to Sainsburys to buy your Christmas dinner than at the game. Obviously if you have to use public transport etc that risk changes.

The fact that we've sold 1,500 of the extra allocation proves that we did indeed need and deserved a larger allocation.

Absolutely did. The position with Covid will likely be an issue for folk making their mind up late.

I think if we'd won any of the last couple of games, the tickets would probably be sold out by now.

I'll be there, but I'm not exactly excited about it at the moment.

Personally think it is pretty exceptional we are taking 19000 to a game a week before Christmas still in the midsts of a pandemic.

  28. #2397
I have a ticket and will be there, drive straight there and home again, unless it gets cancelled. I can understand why people are not wanting to travel on public transport and do all the usual cup final things. If you catch this latest variant next weekend you're all in the house til next year.

  29. #2398
The game is a free hit for Hibs.

Celtic should win but like the huns semi what a feeling if we beat them.

Looking forward to the game and seeing all the other Hibs fans at the game.

Hibs don’t win silverware very often so cup finals will be the only chance of that in near future.

I think Covid does cast a shadow on things for a lot of fans (eg reluctance to mingle in pubs/among crowds) but for me it's financial. Family commitments come first at this time of year.

However, there's no doubt our form of late will have put some off buying tickets too. Defeatist it may be but the prospect of traipsing home in the wake of a defeat, having spent a chunk of your Christmas budget will be especially off-putting for those with kids I think.
