He wouldn't be able to play for us, so that would be massively pointless.
    How come?

Already played for dundee United and beerschot this season.

Can't play for 3 teams in one season.

Doesn’t that only apply to Loan deals?
Genuinely don’t know but thought permanent deals were ok, could be wrong.

I liked the song Dundee United fans had for Shankland. Quite catchy. Can we sign him for that?

Thought he looked dreadful when he came on against us at Easter Road and didn't look to clever against St Mirren the other evening. £4.8m is a lot of money

He's just a young lad learning his way, is it a Scottish thing that everything is micro analysed, I see some of the stick Campbell and Doig get, written off after below par performances, or a few mistakes, something that has to be expected from any young person learning any job, I do wonder how these young boys cope with the pressure!

I didn't think he looked to clever against us not against St Mirren, having a look at what Aberdeen fans were saying the other night was that they thought they would be lucky to get 2m and now we're are talking close to 5m. Fantastic for any club that can get that money, and brilliant that clubs in Scotland are now getting decent money. Doesn't take away from the fact that from the little I have seen of him he hasn't looked all that good .

Hopefully he does what's best for him and goes on to have a fantastic career.

Think he’s just come back from an injury.

I wonder when we will hear of the Hauge signing? Will we have to wait until the media team have done the full Hollywood epic treatment, following him around all day filming his every move? I remember when a photae of a player with a scarf above his head was sufficient announcement.
Have we definitely signed him? Apologies - have missed a couple of days of this thread.

Absolute guesswork here but I wonder if Gary Caldwells links to Man City could see us interested in this guy.

Alan Nixon saying City are scrambling around trying to get him a loan somewhere else. He plays in a position we need strengthened and Caldwell as loans manager at City will know all about him.

Seems to be a fee has been agreed and he has travelled to Edinburgh in the last day or so, according to reports from Norway.

It was his players. His team.
Yeah Ross built that squad, so he can't complain about backing.

Turning it into an attacking entertaining side is a real challenge for Maloney though and that's why we have the huge churn risk taking place now.

That makes no sense tbf. Just because he built the squad doesn't mean it was the one he wanted. Jack undoubtedly wanted more players in the summer passed. He can complain about backing if he didn't get them.

    You're right.

    It was 7 million

There's absolutely no chance Aberdeen turned down 7 or 8 million for Scott McKenna.

There's an old saying - don't believe everything you read in the papers.

Pretty sure this was confirmed by Steve Bruce- I remember being stunned.

English clubs have more money than sense.

Aberdeen should have snapped their hand off!

Fortunately young Josh seems to be coping very well. His second season was bound to see him attract more attention from opponents trying to nullify his game… he is progressing nicely.

Back to topic: if anyone offers close to £5m Aberdeen will surely take it? Huge money for a young player in Scotland.

Surprised none of his fans have started an appreciation thread on here.

Maybe they don’t rate him that highly after all?

Anyhow, good luck to him… a decent, tidy player no doubt. Absolutely no surprise he is going as he never really cemented his place in our team, but he could well make us look a bit foolish.

I think Hallberg will thrive as a starter. He was too good for our bench imo. He'll comfortably become one of St Johnstone's best players if not their best.

Why did you feel the need to take a shot at others? For the crime of rating a Hibs player?

I like hallberg but it seems to me that he’s become a superstar overnight. In reality he will be no loss, contributed very little and not a lot of significance during his time here. Seems a good guy, wish him all the best but I think it’s the right decision for all concerned.

Would be a good move for him, if it goes through I hope it works out and he can get promoted

What? For him to have 6 months off because he can't sign for another Scottish team this season because he's already maxed the number of teams he can play for in a single season? Hiw would that improve us?

He's the sort of player who will do really well there. I wish him the best.
