Thought he was steady at Killie, but he can’t get a game for his US team
Presumably he can play 2 positions, so maybe a useful addition
I’m hoping we’re not using the January window for squad fillers though
IIRC, Findlay, like McCart is left sided. Could be cover for Hanlon or Doig, left side or CB in a back 3. If we go for him then I think McCart is off table.

Or Findlay comes on loan for the rest of the season and McCart signs pre-contract for next season?

Findlay is better than McCart, he’d give Hanlon some proper competition. We could be doing with someone as backup for Porteous as well but that probably isn’t our main focus.

Can't remember Findlay at Killie. Sounds a good player though. Don't rate McCart at all.

  6. #35
For what it's worth I don't think we should be renewing Murphy's contract.

Would like to see a cb who could push for first team and will be a riot if our first signing is not a striker.

Will be interesting to see who goes out.

I think there will be interest from our pink chums regarding Findlay

  8. #37
I can’t help but feel well go for Stuart and Findlay.

Porteous will be away in January and then Mcgregor and Wood in the summer so makes sense to plan forward.

Back 3 of McGinn, Findlay and McCart/Hanlon.

Fwiw I think Findlay is the better defender but McCart on the ball and is more mobile.

Getting both would be very good business IMO

Part of me would like to see us sign someone outwith Scotland and England though.

Croatia, Sweden, Denmark etc will all have very strong leagues and players I’m sure we could pick up for less with more potential. Risky business though as you don’t know how they’ll adapt, we all thought the lad Torben Joneleit would be brilliant when we got him on loan and he hardly kicked a ball.

Who do you think, Nisbet or Porteous, have either signed contract extensions?
There is no issue with Nisbet. He is contracted until Summer 2024.

The real contract issues for Hibs are with:
Doidge who is out of contract in the summer and can talk to other clubs and sign a pre-contract in January and
Porteous who is out of contract in Summer 2023. He may be sold in January and if he doesn't sign a contract before the end of the season will definitely be sold in the summer.

Do we think Hibs will go back in for that Scandanavian dude who was all set to sign last window, im sure he was able to play in various positions.

Was he not being looked at on the basis that Doig was expected to go? If so, might be the same situation next window, unless he signed for another club.

Rumoured Out: Nisbet, Allan and up to 8 others between this transfer window and new season.

Well if that's true, it will certainly provide plenty of what we could call "talking points" for contributors to.net 😊

Nisbet not signed new contract so would assume he will go in one of these windows
Allan looked to dons enough to keep till end of season but then been out again so agsin he could be used as a player to use to get another player in
    Drey Wright surely will go
Hallberg we know was likely to go
Murphy s injuries mean we probs ly need someone more reliably
McGregor will be backroom staff possibly
Mackie just back in training after another lengthy injury must be at end of his contract
That’s nearly 8 so yes you are probably right

Signing Findlay Stuart fits in with Ross Jack's policy of signing players with interchangable first and surnames after all 😁

Was contracted until 2023 so a 2 year extention.
A year longer than I would have expected.
    Ross must rate him.

Seems absolutely pointless to me, he’s just in the door and after a bright start hasn’t looked anything special recently, well before the clicks break but you know what I mean.

That’s not me writing him off or anything, just that a new contract at this time seems unnecessary.

    From your list,
Nisbet is contracted until 2024 so no immediate rush there.
The other 6 on your list are out of contract in the summer or in McGregors case moving to backroom staff.
The 3 not on your list that are out of contract are McGinn, Gullan and Gogic. McGinn might be next up for a new contract but Gogic is toast.
So currently 9 players to go in the summer and 10 if Porteous doesn't sign an extention.

Had heard that McGinn had agreed a deal also not sure how accurate that is

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Drey Wright.

Assuming that his contract is up at the end of this season, you would think he would want to play more to help him win a new contract. That's not going to happen at Hibs, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him go out on loan. Apart from a return to Saints, I can't see anyone wanting to recruit him in the summer, so he has to play more to put himself in the shop window.
