    President Biden in Edinburgh

Where will he be staying in Edinburgh, do we think ? I have a spare room if he wants it.

Can't imagine the security problems this will bring to be honest.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

There's been a contingent of Irish travellers on Gypsy Brae recently, so you might be right. 😀

He probably won’t be staying in Edinburgh, there are a few favoured hotels for high profile visitors but probably will want a location where they can secure a wider perimeter than the city will allow. Though you will be surprised at some of the high profile visits that have taken place on the quiet. Having experienced the Security protocols from the Americans, it’s on a different level provided to any of our politicians.

Just been discussed on radio Scotland, the whole entourage is around 12 big SUVs and the M8 will be closed twice a day to allow the convoy free passage.

Good luck any edinburgh and Glasgow commuters.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

I'd imagine it will be more like police stopping traffic joining at each junction or two ahead as they approach, similar to high profile prisoner transfers. Bigger headache might be on bridges over M8. Should be using a helicopter to give us all a bit more peace.

"We need to be environmentally conscious here, should we use the chopper or a dozen SUVs?"

They’re electric powered. All 12 turned up at a well known hotel in St Andrews last week, only to find there’s just one charging point 🤣.
