Scotland have to be pleased with that target.

All they have to do now is aim to bat the overs now and the job will be done.

Scotland well in control. Captain Coetzer going well with 40 with a few brilliant 6s. 72 for 1 after 9.

A great achievement from Scotland, three wins from three. Superb stuff.

Great result, I said before I was worried about Oman.

I’m not sure which group we go into now, pre-tournament the seedings were to be based on world rankings, but the latest rumour was that it is now on group placing. Ie under the old plan Bangladesh would be top seeds but now I think we are.

In addition we now automatically qualify for the 2022 T20 World Cup.

We are in with Afghanistan, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and probably Ireland.

Cool, so they did switch it then. More winnable games it has to be said. We’ve beaten Afghanistan, Ireland and Namibia before. ICC will be furious!

Missed yesterday’s game but delighted Scotland have made it. It will be tough but you’ve got to be in it to win it.

    Fixtures for the next stage.
    25/10 Afghanistan
    27/10 Namibia
    3/11 New Zealand
    5/11 India
    7/11 Pakistan.

    Looks relatively easy.

So… Namibia likely the easier game over Ireland, but they beat us in a warm up a couple of weeks ago… Ireland very much a team on the slide, full member status came 5 years too late for them!

Bangladesh v Sri Lanka looking close on runs at the moment, although wickets falling for Sri Lanka…

A rare India v Pakistan game at 3pm should be a good watch.

Afghanistan have won the toss and chosen to bat first. I’m a little bit surprised about that as teams tend to worry about dew coming down in the second innings.

Here we go then. Bowling first, so let's see how they get on.

    Coetzer looked delighted with that.

On a slight side note, I wonder what the future holds for Afghanistan cricket now?

I wonder if they will effectively end up playing in exile.

Oh without a doubt. I was more thinking about their future in terms of developing the next generation, given no one in the country will be doing any sport anytime soon.

Back to the game and that's a couple of sturdy looking openers who won't be running many quick singles!

Leask got a bit of a battering there. Ouch.

Bit experimental, if I was going to bowl a spinner I’d have gone for watt. Left armer adds a bit of unknown.

Oh dear, we're really needing a couple of wickets here.
