    Visiting KV Mechelen

    Hi All,

I'm heading over to Belgium in a few weeks time for a gig & wanted to take in a game while I'm across

I will be based in Brussels & unfortunately will miss out on the big Antwerp v Anderlecht game due to flying home on the Sunday afternoon. I have seen KV Mechelen are at home on the Saturday & wondered if anyone has ever been there?

If so what was it like e.g. fans, atmosphere, town etc

Never been but we did sign that ex hearts dude / dud Rherras from them.

    So that's one negative.

I was there before the pandemic. Similar size to Easter Road, good atmosphere and the town is great, as is the beer. They play in a similar strip to Partick. Plenty trains from Brussels.

Have a look at this website mate. Good info on it.

I went through Mechelen on the Leuven to Vlissingen leg of that pre season tour and it looked a nice place. Wouldn’t be a surprise to find it decent for the football. Seemed to be in Europe a lot around about the 80s.

I’m planning a trip to either Belgium or Holland for a gig and football next spring. Who you going to see and what venue?

Had a listen - decent rock sound and look like a pretty big deal over there. Enjoy!

I did see them but they are the 5th division I think, so fancied something a bit higher calibre

Should be able to get the tram straight to the arena from centraal station (number 4 I think). If you've not been to the station before btw, give yourself 15-20 minutes to take it in. From the massive reception hall to the diamond shops, it's awesome.

Finally, make sure you get some de konnick in antwerp. Absolutely the best beer I've ever had. Different to the one you'll get in Brussels too.
