Hibs v the rangers at hampden

This may be wrong but i read that rangers havent beaten hibs at hampden for 42 years since scottish cup replay in 1979? Anyone confirm this?

We've only played the current version of Rangers once at Hampden. Can barely remember what happened.

I'm strangely more confident about playing them than I would be St Johnstone. Nobody expects us to win.

Rangers expectation to win defo in hibs favour. When we beat them to reach the 1991 league cup final was one my favourite ever games. They had a team of top internationals at the time.

I had nothing better to do at work today so I think it's true that we've not lost in a semi final against them since 1970/71?

1-2 after Big Dave Ewing called ‘Rangers Rubbish’ after the first leg

1991, 2004 and 2016 are the only three standing out.

I was at all three and therefore have a 100% record against rangers at Hampden. I listened to the 1979 second replay on the radio as I think only the first game was televised.

Wild night at Ibrox 2nd leg. Most hibbies stuck in traffic and didnt get in till half time. Cooper scored for them.

I think we've only ever lost one semi-final against Der Hun.

I think tripping over his own feet to win the penalty in the final was 😂

Wound him up a few years ago about it and he still thinks it was a penalty - love wee Mickey 👍

Walking up the steps to the Celtic end in 1991 the PA announced Rangers #4 John Brown so we knew that Rangers Captain Richard Gough was out injured

The match kicked off and HIBS kicking towards the Rangers End immediately swarmed round the Rangers box like Hibees round a honey pot

When the only goal came about 20 minutes in - Mickey picked out Ted with an inch perfect cross after Andy Goram had punched a clearance out to him - the whole ground fell silent as Wright headed the ball straight as a die into the middle of the empty net - everyone expected a whistle but it never came as there were two helpless Rangers defenders stranded on the goal line guarding each post

    GOAL!!!!

    The Celtic End went radge

Was at both games in the two legged semi in 1985 when we beat them 2-1 on aggregate before losing to a strong Aberdeen side in the final.
