A lot of support for Murrray's views from fellow players:

Tsitsipas booed back on to court after taking another eight-minute toilet break immediately after losing the third set:

It's out of order. That sort of interruption will clearly have affected his opponent's momentum.

I reckon Evans could have been a top 10 player if he'd had his head screwed on like Andy Murray in his younger days.

After more than 4 hours Dan Evans comes back from two sets down v Australian Alexei Popyrin and is through to the last 16.
He now plays number 2 seed Daniil Medvedev.

Can't see him beating Medvedev though sadly.

Emma Raducanu looks likes she going to be a very special player. Absolutely destroying her opponent tonight.

Had match point for a double bagel but settled for 6-0 6-1.
Her opponent was no mug either, had beaten Barty at the Olympics and top 50 player.

No doubt the trolls will use her Wimbledon exit as a reason why she won’t win but I reckon Emma is made of tough stuff, she was relentless yesterday.

11 games in a row. Ridiculous!

This kid's a star. So cool too. Konte might have bottled it when the American started to find her game late on but Radu just kept producing the goods.

6-2 6-1 win for Emma.
Bencic next, Olympic champion and 12th in the world, far tougher test but the way Emma is playing she can absolutely do it.

I like the US Open. Total contrast to Wimbledon. Always a racket going on, music at the breaks, folk running up and down the stairs getting food and drink. It's laid back.
It's a huge stadium too - at least the Ashe court is. More comfy too without some sweaty matron from the Home Counties pressed into your shoulder all the time trying to glimpse Cliff in the Royal Box or whatever.
I speak from bitter expereince!

Emma is undoubtedly a star. Brilliant how she responded to her Wimbledon disappointment

Absolute donut I work beside took enormous pleasure in announcing today that GBs new tennis star isn’t actually British (his words) but Canadian and started comparing her to Rusedski and even Lennox Lewis. I didn’t hold back, pointing out she has been living in England since she was two years old and recognises the UK as her home. Also said I’d rather look at the positives of having an enormous talent represent GB than looking for something to hold against her. He softened his stance a little after that but blamed the press for going OTT for someone who wasn’t born here. Maybe they should put a little asterisk next to her name when reporting on her.
Think I might avoid cheering Justin Rose on in the Ryder Cup since he was born in South Africa

Absolutely stunning from Raducanu - wins the first set 6-3 by winning 5 games in a row and now a break up in the second set - 4-3!

Raducanu wins - through to the semi finals without dropping a set.
Outstanding.

What a talent. What a player.
You don’t get to the semis of your second grand slam aged 18 without being a bit special.

Jamie Murray into the men's doubles semis too (as is Joe Salisbury) so a good day for the Brits.
