    U18's Games

Could only see a report on the Aberdeen site.

Anyone know who scored for us?

Hibs 18s beat Aberdeen 18s 4-1 tonight in a competitive and occasionally feisty encounter… O’Connor x2, Laidlaw, and Blaney the scorers ⚽️ https://t.co/eVKwhUXGXl

    Good to see Laidlaw back.

It’s a pity we don’t publish details of these games, I’d head along

I agree, really poor. Conor Young's dad is very good at posting on FB, that's only way I knew about game.

Not the easiest way to find out the details of these games, however, if you have time to check the SFA Referee page under appointments, you will eventually find when and where the games are being played.

Not ideal, but might be worth a look in the future.

Nothing better than when a clubs young team is winning and has potential first team prospects bursting a gut to get noticed.

Thanks. I think O'Connor has had a good start to the season for the youth?

I think we have a good chance of winning the league this season with rangers and Celtic having b teams their under 18 teams will be very young. Place in euro youth league for the winners I think too.

thats how they did Europe last year. Too early to tell how this season might pan out though even allowing for a decent win yesterday. Should be in the mix though

Does anyone know if any of the young guys are potentially close to the first team? A few names I've heard about

This is a very very young team, I’m presuming Johnstone and a few others are away with Scotland

Hibs: Josh Blair; Gregor Fordyce, Jacob Blaney, Josh McCulloch, Oscar MacIntyre; Freddie Wylie (Ben Reilly, 87), Murray Aiken, Robbie Hamilton, Ethan Laidlaw (Rudi Molotnikov, 72), Jacob MacIntyre (Mack Weir, 45); Josh O’Connor (Malek Zaid, 87). Sub not used: Freddie Owens.

I don't know Billy, i'd say that Ben Reilly aged 87, Rudi Molotnikov aged 72, Mack Weir aged 45 and Malek Zaid aged 87 are no spring chickens!

Why do the club not do more to advertise these games and give us a report on what happened. I offered to photograph them for free and got a nice reply from KP but the media team, who were the correct contacts, never even replied. I'm sure they could get someone to do a match report and use free photos to promote our youth teams. Might be a good idea getting them used to playing in front of a few fans too.

I want to see the club communicate about every team that plays for the badge and I think there would be good support for some of the younger players and certainly when they get over 16 and could conceivably be turning out for the first teams
