Apparently all ST's belonging to women have been voided. And the screens have been refused. SPFL say it's all down to the Telly Ban.

Not really. The place is well covered by cameras. They will spot a random bottle/pie/bar of soap being launched.
I was believing you until I got to the soap bit!

Should hang them from the FF and South Stands
Do you mean from the front of the roof? No chance we've got the clearance in line of sight from the top rows to be doing that. Would imagine the support structure needed there would be substantial.

We've got huge areas between the corners which are perfect.

Will they be above where the big signs are? If so it’ll properly enclose half the ground, will look pretty smart I think
That’s exactly what I’m hoping for, for the same reason.

Help keep the noise in and wind out and will look amazing from the west stand and on TV.

Will annoy Hearst fans too, always a bonus.

One issue might be the weight of the screens.

Another option is have them where the ad boards are just now, then put the ad boards up top

If they damage it their clubs will have to pay to fix it.

    Great idea imo.
Nah I know that, I can just envisage a game against those 2 from the west or the other lot and the screen ends up damaged or covered in pies/liquids.

Oh well, looking forward to it though. Seems quite a weird feeling knowing we’re going to have big screens to have something to look at before during & after the game.

Interested to see what they put in the east, from my seat I won’t be able to see either screen.

So no one yet knows exactly when this work is going to be carried out? Very excited for the screens! Will massively add the the atmosphere and vibe at Easter Road.

I’m pretty sure the weight of the screens will have been taken into consideration when they are being installed…. Lol, they’re hardly going to install them somewhere without proper assessment!

Low down would be pretty poor IMHO and I doubt whether putting them anywhere but above the current signage will have been considered.

I believe the clocks are not allowed to go past the 45 or 90 minute by the football authorities.

I long for the days when it read "visitors" instead of the away team name.

It's not permitted in grounds to show the time past 90.

Did they not say some time in September? it's a good length of time between the livingston game and the next home game on the 18th.

The refs sometimes need to give Celtic and Rangers extra minutes to get a goal.

Two big screens are going on the area where the big signs currently are at each side of the east stand

The two smaller screens are going on the “walls” of the east looking into the fans is probably the best way I can explain it lol

    So 4 in total ?

As others have said it would look really good if they found a way to enclose the gaps above the current advertising.
    Thanks
Would be great if they dever upgrade the scoreboard and add those wrap around electric advertising boards. Think we will get there over time - Ron definitely wants to upgrade the stadium which is long over due.

Also, hopefully if there are screens going on the inside of the East, they may be looking at putting up cladding over the exposed steelwork and Perspex windshields on the inside of the end of the stands, another small improvement that would look far smarter.

While we’re at it, as would tidying up the astroturf round the perimeter of the pitch, changing the white goal nets to black, swapping out the 20000 seats which are slowing turning turquoise for a nice emerald or bottle green, and a massive paint job on all four stands. But I feel that may be asking a bit too much

Really don't understand the short term thinking of those that were saying after Rijeka that the screens were a terrible idea and the money should be used on the squad instead.

I'm sure there is money available for a striker and a CB, investing in this stadium improvement won't effect that.

If we only ever prioritised short term spending on the squad and no infrastructure improvements where would we be - still training in dog **** covered parks in Edinburgh. On Bartley's open goal interview he spoke about how he wasn't sure at all about Scottish football and didn't want to come, but our training ground helped convince him on the size and potential of our club.

If the screens are expected to pay for themselves with advertising after about a year, that means that apart from low maintenance costs they will basically be making us free money once they are paid off. Which can then be invested back in to the squad allowing us to attract a larger number of high level players in 2-3 years time.

I agree they’ll be a worthwhile investment regardless but I would say that £1m income a year from the screens sounds incredibly high.

Yeah I think that as well.

If it was that easy why haven't other clubs in Scotland got them installed?

Celtic and Rangers have them don't say? They're probably the only 2 clubs who could afford to have them.

Do other clubs in Scotland have an owner with the money to spend on two big screens? The space to do it? The sponsorships needed to make it worthwhile?

I'm sure Ron just plucked a number out the air just to con us, £1m a year, we fans obviously know much better. Pffftt.

Exactly, wouldn't surprise me if the advertising has been sold already.

Sick of him conning us. That one million will be going straight in his back pocket. Only a matter of time before his submarine emerges at Leith docks.

Has anyone suggested they know better?

Our turnover last year was £8.9m. Keeping in mind all the different ways Hibs receive income that lead to that figure, a figure of £1m for adverts on a big tele seems a lot.

If we can get it then great. Even half of that amount would make it worthwhile.

Say we play 25 games at Easter Road per season then that works out at £40,000 per game which seems high to advertise to at most 21,000 people inside the stadium.
