New York City v Orlando City (Sunday 2300)

Live on Sky at 2300 Sunday.

A reminder that our new signing will hopefully show us what we're getting in January.

A very interesting signing. Hes pulled up a few trees in the MLS. Having said that after he signed earlier in the week I did stay up all night , well till after 3 am to watch his last game, To be honest he was disappointing and was replaced after 75 mins. Obviously signing for Hibs had gone to his head

I watched the game too and wasn't sure about the team tactics helping him out much. They seemed to be sitting back and he was having to drop deep to even get a touch.....

Watched a few MLS games there are some good players in that league. The standard is not that bad. Could be a good market to look at. Some of the players could see us as a stepping stone to putting themselves into the shop window to play in Europe. Could do loan deals for players in January window. A few are now doing well in Europe
I am sure that Ron is probably looking at this. I don't think MLS players earn that much sure there may be a ceiling on salaries they are allowed to pay big stars a good salaries .

MLS is a decent standard and i think has taken advantage of the wages being paid in South America. In Europe its still regarded as a place to earn a few quid at the end of your career. For South American players its somewhere to earn good money at the height of your career if you havent been picked up by a top end European Club.

The minimum salary is £53,000 per year and average £212,000 - they have some individuals on big money which will distort that average. Those are converted into £ figures.

Hope they pump NYCFC. Absolute joke they play in a baseball stadium except when they want and they have to use their rivals stadium.

Go get a hat trick Chris lad!

I see Nani’s not in the squad either, who was also a guaranteed start, so maybe the squad’s just been rotated?

Either that, or he could be on his way here early 👀.

Nani looked injured when he was substituted in their last game.

"Move about to be brought forward" according to the commentator.

  21. #20
Commentators speculating that his omission from the squad could possibly mean his move to Scottish club Hibernian could be brought forward 6 months.

    Like I say pure speculation.

It wasn’t quite as definite. He said it was maybe an indication that the move could be sooner.

Commentator mentioned it again, sounding a bit more likely. Here’s hoping.

Does the selling team in America get the money when a player is sold? I thought it was a central system where all the contracts and wages are paid by the league. If so there’s not much incentive for Orlando to sell him.

    United we stand here....

Did they badly miss Nani and Mueller?
I looked at their squad a couple of days ago and thought their bench was weak compared to the starters.
