    Colts In the challenge cup

I see our colts are at home to Elgin city on August 10th, the day after more restrictions are lifted. Will this be played at Easter Road with fans?

Elgin will be a tough game, think they’ve put us out twice over the years
Has anyone seen the rules, how many over 20’s can you play

I’d have thought so, we played CSS at their home ground a few weeks back, and fans were in
    Standing only

I like how you can see the path. Might be a shout for the league Cup in future?

Pretty much any tie will be a toughy for the colts - literally men against boys. Good experience though I would have thought. And may bring some extra gate receipts into the tourney which will do the lower league sides no harm at all.

I think American style brackets would be a good addition the league cup personally.

Wouldn't do it for the scottish.

Elgin have put Hibs Colts out twice in the last few years
These teams are hard to crack for the young lads

Still no word on tickets for this one?

  16. #15
Anyone heard anything on this? Would be disappointed if it was a closed doors job, was hoping to head along to Easter Road for it.

Not a fan of the whole premise of the Colts/B teams but it’s an excuse to see the Hibs.

Our game against Elgin a couple of years ago is probably the only ever time I’ll watch Josh Doig in the flesh before he becomes our record sale 😂

I enquired at the ticket office last night and the guy was adamant there was no game at first. I assured him there was and he then said that Hibs B team is not ‘Hibs’. I was a bit like what? And he then said it was up to the other team to organise as it wasn’t a hibs game.

A fair summary. I emailed Elgin to see if they had heard and they emailed back to say that they have asked hibs what the arrangements are and are waiting to hear.

He added that because it is so late in the day now he expects that there will be no away fans.

When a Hibs 11 played Civil service strollers at the same venue on 2nd July, 500 hundred fans were allowed in. Think the capacity is around 1,500 or so.

You’d have thought 1,000 or so crowd, would allow some Elgin fans in too

Its very strange as not a peep from either club with Elgin not even acknowledging the fixture on their website.

Nothing wrong with just saying its a closed door match but why the block silence.

I’ve emailed the club for confirmation - not heard back.

A few clubs have pulled out their B teams I think, might we do the same? Would hope not but all seems seriously strange.
