    Fraser Murray

Scores again for Kilmarnock - that’s 2 goals in 3 for him.

He wasn’t going to make it with us, but I’m glad to see him settling in and doing well at Killie right away.

He will score plenty at that level.

In his two previous games he’s been named MOTM twice, and still has 45 mins to go in this game, so wouldn’t be surprised if he gets in again.

Happy his move is working out for him.

It will be really interesting how he gets on in the top league once Killie get promoted.
The best young player since Stanton and Shaw to leave.

Leaves Gullan in the will he, won't he pressure seat now.

I liked him when he first broke through. Seemed to go backwards after that though. I hoped he’d make it with us but pleased he seems to be doing well at Killie.

Think that says it all about Murray's level now.

Always liked him, but he is not good enough for what we want to do.

I don’t think Killie will be promoted.

Did next to nothing with our first team so right for him to leave, but can see him doing well elsewhere. Good luck to him.

What level though? Wasn’t brilliant in the Championship last year and the game today was home to Stranraer. He needs to show he’s a consistent Championship player this year.

Neither do I think Dunfermline will.

They have been fully taken over now by the German consortium that invested last season.
The also have Peter Grant at the helm instead of Stevie Crawford which IMO is a big improvement.
The highly rated Rangers kid Kai ? signed on loan this week so all things considered they could be in a position to get back to the top league. Would be a great replacement for Livingston.
It will be a good league this season with many teams thinking they have a chance..

That's a very low bar. I think we've been right to let these players leave. I think Gullan will probably be allowed to leave too.

I always thought he looked a classy player in flashes - consistency being the elusive quality he struggled to attain at Hibs.

Moving on is probably the best move for him as he'll get the game time he needs to find that consistency. It's hard to get that game time at Hibs where we usually have enough resources to bring in players who are already at that level. Hopefully dropping down a division will work for Murray in a similar way as it did for Nisbet.

There was never a doubt that he has a bit if quality about him but just had a wee bit missing for our level. So if it takes a 10 to come through and hold his place Fraser was about 9.

And we have a buy back deal or a sell on clause? Or was he out of contract?

How many starts did he actually make here? Don't think he was given anything like a fair chance, especially in easier games vs lower league sides etc. Mental he didn't start a few very easy matches like BSC glasgow.

3 league starts, 3 cup starts. Debut v Turriff. I had high hopes for him when Lennon gave him his league debut.

I’ve posted the article before that did analysis on players brought through between 2009 and 2019 in Scottish football. In terms of debuts given, and probably more relevantly, minutes played Hibs didn’t fare well. I think the likes of Shaw, Murray & possibly Gullan all might have a case to make that they weren’t given the opportunities or structure needed to succeed at Hibs, even if ultimately they probably wouldn’t have developed to the level of where we aspire to regularly be.

I think the pathway to the first team was a failing of the club for the last 10 or 15 years. Hopefully that is changing with Doig & Porteous rather than them being the exceptions. We’ve got two 16 year olds that have been on trial at clubs like Man City & Liverpool. I’d hope there is a plan for them over the next season or two and finding the balance between giving them first team exposure, even if there’s a small short term hit for the greater mid-long term good.
