Such a weird one based on current squad (including Macey and MacKay)
So many questions on current players. Will Allan be back to his best? Will Murphy stay fit? Will Magennis stay fit and show his potential? Will Mallan still be here?
I think if you look things on purely quality of squad talent and squad depth then I'd have us strong favourites for third.

Hibs are always consistently inconsistent but I’m still optimistic we can challenge for third. Hopefully will see some players come in over the summer. I don’t see why people are panicking about Hertz though, I think they will finish top 6 but I think we will finish above them

Top 6. Don't think we'll finish 3rd.

It's a fictional thread based on where we would finish with the present squad I.e. no ins or outs.
Hence I said 3rd.
As for what actually happens, the big challenge is for our ins to at least match our outs in quality. Fingers crossed we don't lose more than two players.
All are contracted for next season with the exception of Irvine and most of us believe there is a clause in Boyles contract allowing him to leave if that is matched. The purchase of McKay could be seen as a preemptive strike on that front although he appears to play on the left.
Boyle and Irvine would leave large holes to fill.
Irvine is keeping his options open and his choice will depend on what offers he gets. Hibs is his baseline and there is still a reasonable chance he will return to Easter Road.
Boyles retention I am less confident about. If I was a club chairman and I knew I could pick up Boyle for Ł500k I would be on it. Every team needs match winners, x factor players and Martin is such a player. The issue is where he could go. Playing for Australia will have opened his eyes and given him a shop window for the Asian football market so his options have increased. Like most folk here I will be gutted to lose him but at the same time pleased for him if he can make a big wedge on his final contract. He has cost us little but has given a lot.Last edited by CMurdoch; 07-06-2021 at 11:51 AM.

I think from what i've heard about everyone improving beyond all recognition, we could go down next season.

Hearts have no right to be top six. i wouldnt be surprised if they didn't make it. They are rank.

…….…….Gogic…….Newell…
Boyle……………Allan…………Murphy/Mackay….
…………………..Doidge/Nisbet……
Or
…………..…….Macey…………
……McGinn….Porteous….Hanlon…
Boyle…….Gogic……..Newell……..Doig…..
…………………..Allan……
…………….Nisbet……..Doidge…..
Both teams aren’t including
Dabrowski
Mallan
Cadden
Magennis
Hallberg
Wright
Stevenson
Gray
McGregor
James
Fraser Murray
Jamie Gullan
Sean Mackie
Ryan Shanley
Steven Bradley
I think we’d do a lot better than most.
