Cinema Paradiso is an incredible film.

  10. #39
Most spaghetti westerns, but particularly the Dollars trilogy
    The Godfather 1 and 2
    The Departed
    LA Confidential
    Local Hero
The Eagle has Landed (only because it was filmed just up the road from me)

Going back a bit - The Ladykillers.

Going back even further - virtually anything with Buster Keaton in it. The man was a comic genius.

It's a great film no argument there. Not sure it's one to watch again and again for me though.

Forgot about this. I would add that to my list along with Pearl Harbour (more for the special effects than the lurv story included) and a League of Their Own because the scene with Tom Hanks when he is drunk and gets on the coach with the baseball team is hilarious.

The first time I watched it I was nearly in tears at the end and was a genuine wow, WTF moment, couldn't believe what happened. The home movie/video recorded stuff breaks your heart. The shock of it has gone now though when I watch it so doesn't effect me as much.

It’s mental that your top two are the ones I used to quote as my favourite films, and the one you chose from the dollars trilogy, is probably the least famous and also my favourite from the three! Oh and you missed out ‘quantum of solace’ which I thought was awful :)

Also think it’s strange how many of the relatively small selection on this thread are among my favourites too. Combination of the best films being the ones you tend to rewatch and clearly a lot of selections inspired by previous posts!

Used to watch that as a kid with my dad and wonder why he was killing himself laughing so much, always watch at least a bit of it if I catch it on a great film
