Just seen a clip on You Tube announcing the Australian WC qualifiers squad.
As expected Boyle and Irvine are included. So, if still at Hibs, they will be unavailable for a good part of June. Games 4th / 8th / 12th / 16th.
Just popped into my head that it will have no affect as I doubt we have any games over that period anyway.

Would assume it will be absolutely boiling hot there.
Just checked average temperature for June 2020 in Kuwait City was 36 degrees with low temp 28 wow. Hope they are playing the games when the sun is down.Last edited by JimBHibees; 25-05-2021 at 06:10 AM.

No chance Irving will still be at Hibs judging by his final performance.

Below is the detail for the Qatar stadiums, I assume Kuwait’s will be similar.
Each of the five stadiums will harness the power of the sun's rays to provide a cool environment for players and fans by converting solar energy into electricity that will then be used to cool both fans and players at the stadiums. When games are not taking place, the solar installations at the stadiums will export energy onto the power grid. During matches, the stadiums will draw energy from the grid. This is the basis for the stadiums’ carbon-neutrality. Along with the stadiums, we plan to make the cooling technologies we’ve developed available to other countries in hot climates, so that they too can host major sportingLast edited by ddoc; 25-05-2021 at 07:09 AM.

There is an argument for saying us having an Aussie international on the books, or other far flung nation (but you can't get more far flung than Oz) devalues the worth of the player to the club given their terms of absence and the effect their long-haul travel and time-zone changes have on their ability to perform for us. Maybe you can get by with one such player, but two?
Great to have internationalists on the books, and to have them benefitting from that level of experience, but has Boyle benefited? Is he a better player since committing to Oz. I think the opposite.
Edit: Also, per another thread, apparently Irvine is in desperate need of a full pre-season to realise his ability, not jetting off for more games.

On Saturday it looked like they were both saving themselves for the Oz games.

Half the problem I’ve had with jet lag isn’t time zone shift) generally recover in about a day, it’s the day of lost sleep.
Get a good kip on a First Class lie flat bed and you’ll be fine.
