Same players gave us our best league finish is what, 15-20 years?

Clearing out everyone on the back of that might be a tad of an over reaction

In a very poor league it has to be said. Give me a trophy over 3rd place any day

A beer mat with Neil Lennons phone number on it.
    Don't think it's even that scientific. 😁

This Australian boy Celtic are after sounds decent to be fair to them. Listening to an Australian pundit talking about him on talk sport just now and he sounds like quite an exciting appointment IMO.
On the other hand the track record of coaches coming from outside of Scotland / the UK with foreign ideals likes being fit and not eating chips is somewhat... mixed.

Do we contribute to it being poor?

The old Dortmund boy who was mentioned by bingo would be who I’d want if I was a Celtic fan. On paper he’d be incredible but you’d still that doubt that Scottish players could play under someone like him.

He saved them from relegation out the football league completely by overturning a 17 point deficit in half a season then got them promoted to League One. Then he left, came back and took them from League One to the Prem and kept them in it for 5 years.

He done an incredible job there.
Spending an obscene amount of money along the way

Was just checking if the potential new Celtic manager, has brought Boyle into the Aussie squad, but think he left the year before he played for them

Did Bournemouth spend more than other Championship clubs the season they got promoted?

I’m not sure if you’re genuinely questioning whether Eddie Howe has had a better career than Jack Ross or not and comes with a better pedigree or if you’re just needlessly looking for an argument..

He finished 16th, 9th, 12th, 14th and 18th. 3 of they 5 seasons were a lot more than just avoiding relegation.

You’re kidding yourself on if you think that Eddie Howe and Jack Ross would be similar standard appointments.
I’m not looking for an argument and I didn’t bring Jack Ross into it.

Just surprised a guy that kicks about the lower end of the English league with a target of not getting relegated, not making any impression in the cup tournaments and got homesick last time he tried moving away even got close to the Celtic job.

Not sure but I read somewhere he spent £176 million at Bournemouth. Not sure how that compares.

They were 5 seasons in the Premiership. If that was his spending in those 5 seasons alone it would still be hardly anything for down there imo.

Throw in 2 seasons in the Championship and I’d suggest that could be called a shoe string budget down there.

I didn’t bring him into it either.

He’s done an incredible job down south and was by far the best realistic option for them imo.

Suggestion this morning in the press that the new potential Celtic manager doesn't have the correct UEFA coaching licence to work here 🤣

Was that not the same situation at Stevie G, he completed it over the summer

Celtic deal for new boss Ange Postecoglou could be done 'within three to five days' with just compensation to be sorted

He will have to quarantine for 2 weeks too. Crazy situation for Celtic to get into it.

Can't for the life of me understand why they are bringing in somebody with no knowledge whatsoever of football here.
I know it's unfashionable and would be met with fury but I would get Callum Davidson if I was them.
He definitely has something about him.

I think after what happened with Howe they feel under pressure to go for someone either left field or a big name. A big name would cost a lot more money than this guy. (Yes I know his name is also big)

FWIW I think he sounds decent for a Hibs/Hearts/Aberdeen, Im quite jealous in some ways but I’m not sure he’s a sensible appointment for where Celtic are at just now.

I heard somewhere that Rangers chose Caixinha over him when they appointed him.

We have a good, young manager who deserves time. I hope he gets it.
The one thing we know this new Celtic guy won't be getting is time.

Aye, if we keep progressing and use last season as foundations for a successful team going forward you won’t find me complaining.

If we don’t then I hope we go for a mad foreigner who most of us haven’t heard of and plays an attacking high tempo and high energy style of football.

Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid apparently.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Everton were ambitious and went for Conte.

Did McCann not want the job full time?

    Is he away somewhere else?

McCann has got a job with some agency called Stormsportsx.
Saw him got a mention from Dikes the other day, was doing a training session for him!
Presume he’s doing this with combining his TV work
