    Won a trophy with Napoli.

Took Milan to 5th, which at the time was decent. They had a poor squad. He isn't a bad manager at all.
Agree think reasonable appointment all things considered. Certainly very passionate guy.

Sacked Mourinho a few days before a cup final. Wanted Nagelsmann but Bayern stepped in and took him. Then moved their intentions to the likes of Rodgers and ten Hag. Once they weren’t interested they tried to get Poch back, PSG were having none of it so went in for Conte who they couldn’t agree terms with. New DOF then appointed and they have a verbal agreement to bring in Fonseca, now Gattuso has left Fiorentina they have told Fonseca they don’t want him and are going for Gattuso. Apparently the DOF wanted Gattuso before he left Juventus.

    Quite the episode.

    Shambles.

There was a huge backlash from Spurs fans on Social Media yesterday after the Gattuso reports grew. Reports this morning that Spurs have now decided against hiring him.

Gattuso is a nasty piece of work regardless of his managerial talents.

Spurs problems begin and end with Levy. He has to be got rid of somehow and they can progress.

Has he not done quite a decent job in terms of growing Spurs compared to where they were when he took over? I don’t know though.

I’d have thought Eddie Howe would be a good fit for what they’re looking for.

He got them a brand new stadium and the pandemic has really affected them because of a loss of all that revenue. They were very close to winning the PL between 15/16 and 16/17, then moved from WHL where they were unbeaten in their last season to play at Wembley for a season and a half or so. If they had stayed at WHL and invested in the squad instead of building the new stadium around that period I think they would have won something.

I think that a lot of their supporters are upset and angry because of the lack of success and how Levy promised the new stadium to help them compete with the bigger clubs, only to see them decline and continue to spend a lack of money compared to their rivals. The new stadium and the pandemic has set them back quite a bit I think.

He’s also in a difficult position of either selling Kane to help rebuild the team or facing a massive backlash from supporters for selling him at a time where he is already facing criticism for the Super League fiasco amongst other things.

Bournemouth don’t look like they are going to renew Jonathan Woodgates short term contract in at the end of June.

They are showing an interest in Scott Parker, but don’t like the compensation Fulham would be looking for.

Anybody got Eddie Howe’s contact number ?

Bit of a long commute for Eddie to London though...

I’ve said before on here that Levy knows f all about football and I stand by that.

Spurs are a wealthy club with wealthy owners and an enormous fan base. Their new stadium is very fine but their lack of actual success is striking.

Na, Bournemouth have big spending owners. Fulham owner prefers wrestling.

Great appointment by Everton - their best signing in years! He won't take any guff from players who don't want to turn up. And he should add some steel to the defence, which is badly needed.

My mate in liverpool is a massive Everton fan, he's registered here as Evertonhibs and many of his mates are none too happy. It's to do with derogatory things said by Rafa when at Liverpool.

He called them a small club.

On the face of it it isn't the worst thing ever said but he's got a very long way to go there to win the fans over.

I can't see this working tbh.

That's like the big team/wee team stuff that needled a lot of folk here at one time. It's wind-up material and people are mugs to let it get to them.
EFC have done well to get him with his record. Spurs haven't done as well I'd say.

Will be a disaster. Fans will want him gone after every defeat. Tone deaf appointment.

Also, surely you don't think he's a better manager than Ancelotti?

Benitez is a good manager, but this is a very bad idea.
