    Team for Wed v Aberdeen

    Marciano

    Gray
    McGregor
    Porteous
    Stevenson

    Wright
    Magennis
    Gogic
    Murphy

    Laidlaw
    Doidge

If we have players that can replace Doidge and Porteous in our youth ranks get them into the team bubble and make them available for selection.

    Cup Final win or bust..

I would go with today's starting lineup and look to secure the point we need to secure 3rd. Think its important to do so for momentum going into the final, it's now important to go into the final with 3rd secured.

3rd won't mean a great deal if we don't win the cup.
As things stand it's going to be very difficult for Aberdeen to overtake us

Strongest team. We have two weeks till the final, we can rest players against Celtic.

  6. #5
We need to put out our strongest side V the sheep in an effort to to put 3rd to bed on Wednesday night. Do that then rest certain players for what would become the not so important Celtic game.

Yes, just put the best team available out, get the result needed and then all focus can be on the final.

There's plenty time until the cup final so me real need to rest anyone.

If there are any knocks then protect them but wrapping fit players in cotton wool for the next 2 weeks isn't really an option imo. If anything it could be counter productive.

It might be a good idea to get those likely to feature in the final such as Murphy, Halberg, Daz and Magennis some minutes but I wouldn't be making wholesale changes.

Smart subs and taking no chances with niggles and we'll be fine.

Seemed to pick a few injuries today
Newell must be a doubt, and Porteous went off with what looked like a hamstring strain
Fortunately Daz looked good when he came on, and Murphy too. Also got Gogic back for Wednesday
Get a point on Saturday, look to rest 1/2 v Celtic

3rd place really means very little now. Our squad is so small. a few unnecessary injuries and we don't have the depth to replace certain players.

Introducing some of the fringe players into the first team bubble surely is a good idea?

It's amazing what a potential cup final place does to an injury Billy

I think there will be a raft of changes and the likes of Wright, Magennis, and McGregor will come in without doubt. Hallberg may keep his place to get fitness in the legs.

The difficulty for me is that our strikers are scoring and that's a habit you don't want to interrupt, so I think we'll keep the front line as is for the Dons game.

Other than players with minor knocks and niggles, I'd go with the strongest available team on Wednesday. Get a draw or a win and we can rest players next Saturday.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

The Porteous hamstring strain is a worry so unlikely to see him before the final.

Do you think Newell will just be bad bruising or do you think there is a bigger issue?
Little point of playing him against Aberdeen

So Daz and Gogic to take their places with a view to getting at least a draw on Wednesday which will seal 3rd spot.

Thereafter a fringe player tune up and bencher game against Celtic next weekend.

Do we know what sort of injury Joe picked up? Remember he’s missed a chunk of football with an Achilles/heel injury. Hope it’s not a reoccurrence of that

I thought he had his hand up and was standing still rather than looking to get involved just before the incident with Shankland.

Just before he left the field he was pointing out his achilles/heal area to the physio so that is a concern and the same area was iced up when he was sitting in the stand afterwards. He obviously hurt himself when he kicked Shankland in the 1st half so I originally thought it must be related to that incident.

Considering the injuries I would go with -

    Marciano

    McGinn
    McGregor
    Hanlon
    Doig

    Irvine
    Hallberg
    Gogic
    Murphy

    Boyle
    Doidge

Strongest team, but definitely a host of players rested against Celtic! I can't keep saying it enough, Aberdeen will comfortably get beat at Ibrox. 3rd is over and ours regardless of if we lose the next 2. Let's play our strongest for Wednesday though to keep them ticking over/better outlook securing 3rd on our own rather then when Rangers beat Aberdeen last game.

Regardless, id most definitely be resting players against Celtic. Imagine Nesbit for example got injured a week before the final...

Absolutely. Aberdeen on Wed can be final run-out of the season for our star (and non-injured) players before giving them a week and a half of rest and training for the biggest game in many of their Hibs careers.

Nothing matters except 22nd May. We do whatever we need to have our best team on the pitch that day.

Is Scott Allan available to play in these last two games?

Strongest team possible against the Dons to put 3rd to bed.

Then, please indulge me with this personal and very selfish consideration. PLease make it possible to have our best players all available for the final with a view to having Lewis come on in the last few minutes to score the winner.

With thanks to all you makers of dreams come true.
